Make a moist shed container for Aurora. This can easily be done using a small plastic container and some paper towels or a washcloth. Poke holes in the lid, moisten the towel or cloth with warm water and place her in the container for 15-20 minutes. A moist hide should also be placed in the enclosure during sheds. Use a Q-Tip to gently wipe old shed off after soaking. If the eye cap does not come off, do not try to remove it yourself. Have her examined by an experienced herp veterinarian.

Any new pet should be examined by a veterinarian within 72 hours of arriving home to confirm good health or to treat any preexisting conditions. If she is having difficulty breathing, she should be seen sooner rather than later in case she has or is developing a respiratory infection. Monitor for lethargy or discharge from the nose or mouth. Increase humidity or soak in warm water to facilitate shedding. You can also use commercial shed sprays that can be purchased online or in most pet stores. Check the temperature across the enclosure. Low temps can affect activity, appetite and digestion in reptiles. Expect Raph to be a bit skittish in his new home. Make sure he has fresh food and clean water. Give him a week or so to "settle in". When around the cage, move slowly and speak softly. Being that he is "new", he should be examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles to make sure the runny nose is not due to a developing respiratory infection.

Hi! My favorite resource for bearded dragon care is anapsid.org. http://www.anapsid.org/bearded.html Gwenevere should have a tank that’s large enough to permit a temperature range with a cool side about 75-85F and a hot side 95-100F. A UVB light should be on about 10-12 hours a day on the hot side. A water bowl should always be available and should be large enough to permit full body soaks. Good luck!

Thanks for your question about Leo lela, and I am sorry that this is happening to you both! Typically leopard geckos should shed all of their skin in a short period of time, and they often eat it so owners may not realize they have shed at all. When we see shed sticking around, like in Leo lela's case, we begin to worry about dysecdysis (retained shed). This is common when there are imperfections in the husbandry that is provided. Most frequently, there is not enough humidity present. For leopard geckos, we recommend having a humid hide available for them that is lined with moist sphagnum moss. It is recommended to have a humid hide on the warm end of the enclosure as well as the cool end to provide your gecko with options regarding humidity. As far as him being lighter - I am not sure if you mean lighter in color, which may be associated with the shedding, or lighter in weight. If you mean lighter in weight, then I would be concerned that he has an underlying issue occurring. To hel
