He looks beautiful. Most cats love crumpled paper balls! But you can try the fuzzy mice that are available from a pet store or get one of the angling toys (a stick with an attached string and a fetherball at the end). You can also make a feather toy for him by gathering a lot of feathers, tying them together and throwing it. Anotehr great toy is a ball into which you can put dry food. The ball has a few holes and as he plays with it the food falls out. once he figures out how it works, it is a great toy. (But my cats still like the small crumpled paper balls best.....)

Poor Fred. It sounds like an allergy. You can give 1/2 of an adult 25mg Benadryl twice a day every day if this helps with the itching. Also, make sure you are using a high quality monthly flea preventative from your vet. Most of the OTC flea medicines do not work well. Also, be sure to treat your house and yard for cleans if necessary to get rid of the fleas. Fleas don't live on the pet but in the environment. They only get on the pet for a feeding then jump off. Finally, if he isn't improving I would try to get him to the vet as he may need a steroid shot or some other type of allergy medicine and/or antibiotics to help him feel better. I hope this helps!

Hello. This is literally an age old question & basically it all goes back to this: no one knows what goes on in a cats head. I am not just being facetious, but even my cats drive me crazy sometimes. Food, toys, beds, cat condos all go through love/hate phases all the time. I think it is so wonderful that you adopted him, & as long as he loves being with you, the warming bed may just be too foreign to him. There may also be a very low quality hum or vibration that goes along with the heating elements that just puts him off. If he loves his condo & his blankets, that may be all he needs, plus food & love. Again, thanks for taking him in & thanks for using Boop by Petco.

I'm so sorry that you are dealing with this with Fred. Since there is blood in her urine, I would first continue to look for medical causes of blood in the urine if she doesn't have a history of urinary tract problems. Here is more information on FLUTD. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&C=&A=611&SourceID= From that handout, in older cats (over 10 years old), here is the distribution of why they have FLUTD... 50% will have true urinary tract infections. 10% will have bladder stones. 17% will have a combination of infection and bladder stone. 7% will have urethral blockage. 3% will have urinary tract cancer. 5% will not have a cause that can be determined despite extensive testing. 66% will be in some stage of kidney failure. 5% will have urinary incontinence. So, my first recommendation if there is still blood in Fred's urine is to have your vet run a urine culture. That requires the urine to be sent to the lab to see if they can grow any bacteria from the urine. This

I do think our pets grieve, and this can last various lengths of time. All you can do is provide lots of love and affection and with time the grief will improve. New [toys](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/category/cat/cat-toys) and [treats](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/category/cat/cat-treats) can help. You can also try a [pheromone product](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/comfort-zone-calming-diffuser-kit-for-cat) that can help cats during periods of adjustment. It is available in a room diffuser or a spray.
