Drontal Plus is a prescription combination internal parasite medication (wormer). Drontal Plus contains the active ingredients praziquantel, pyrantel pamoate, and febantel.
Drontal Plus is for dogs and puppies over four weeks of age and over 2 lbs in weight.
Combination prescription medication for the treatment of internal parasites
Effective against tapeworm, hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms
Can be used in puppies as young as three weeks of age who are over 2 lbs
Drontal Plus tablets remove cestodes (tapeworms), ascarids (roundworms), hookworms, and whipworms from dogs. Broad-spectrum wormer contains three active ingredients: an FDA-approved oral cestode de-wormer plus a de-wormer effective against ascarids and hookworms; and febantel, active against nematodes, including whipworms. These three ingredients utilize different modes of action to rid your dog or puppy of a wide variety of intestinal worms. Tablets are scored for convenient oral administration. Not for use in pregnant animals. Can be used in puppies at least three weeks old with weight exceeding two pounds.
This combination anthelmintic agent removes cestodes (tapeworms), ascarids (roundworms), hookworms, and whipworms from dogs. Drontal Plus tablets work by paralyzing the worms and by disrupting normal parasite biology.
Drontal Plus is given by mouth. Tablets may be crumbled and mixed with a small amount of food. This should be eaten before the pet receives the remainder of the meal to ensure the entire amount of medication is ingested. Fasting is neither necessary nor recommended. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. If you have difficulty giving the medication, contact your veterinarian. This medication should only be given to the pet for whom it was prescribed.
Drontal Plus will kill roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms and whipworms. These worms may either be too small or may be digested, so you may not see worms in the stool. This medication will kill adult worms, but not immature worms that may be migrating through the body. It will not prevent reinfection. For these reasons, periodic deworming is often recommended.
Tablet.
Praziquantel with pyrantel pamoate and febantel.
Talk to your veterinarian about what type of outcome is expected. Have your veterinarian explain the other treatment options that may be available to treat your pet's condition.
Discuss the steps you need to take to prevent your pet from becoming reinfected. Tell your veterinarian if your pet is pregnant or may be used for breeding.
Notify your veterinarian of any other medications or supplements your pet is taking. Also if your pet has had any reactions to previous medications.
If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.
Fungal infections are very difficult to treat, so the treatment may take weeks to months to completely eliminate the infection. It is extremely important to follow the dosage instructions from your veterinarian.
Not for use in animals hypersensitive (allergic) to it or to similar products. Not recommended for use in pregnant animals or those with liver disease unless the benefits outweigh the risks. Use with caution in animals with kidney failure and those female animals nursing their young.
Side effects are rare, but may include drooling, vomiting, and loss of appetite, diarrhea, or lethargy.
Store in a tight, light-resistant, childproof container at room temperature Keep out of reach of children and pets.
If you know or suspect your pet has had an overdose, contact your veterinarian immediately.
Consult your veterinarian before using Drontal Plus with any other medications, including vitamins and supplements, and other dewormers.

Drontal Plus is supposed to be for dogs. what if i give Drontal Plus to my cat? Merrill (my cat) has Revolution and Drontal then she isn't protected from whipworms as she would be with Drontal Plus?
Pepper went to the vet today also for throwing up bile this morning. Vet said to just monitor her. Was given a dose of drontal plus as precautionary as she was around a puppy with worms. I gave that to her about 4-5 hours ago. She now has diarrhea and no appetite which is VERY unlike her. She has never refuses food in her life. Could this be a side effect of the drontal plus?
Hello, I got my dog dewormed (Drontal Plus) 5 days ago and It’s passing loose stools since then, is it normal? I’m giving him probiotic/prebiotic (Synbiotic D-C), is there anything else I could do to relieve this symptom? Thank you!
When shiro doing potty sometimes he ate this is it harmful for his health?i give him 4th march 2018 drontal plus half tablet .next when i give him again?he has worm too much.when he ate raw carrot we notice worm pass out from his potty.can i give him raw carrot even though he has worming problem
Cat just threw up something weird. She threw up something similar a few days ago as well. What is this? (She's getting Drontal regularly.) Thanks.
8 week old puppy had HCT of 19%, had been dewormed few days earlier, started giving liquid iron and fortiflora, puppy is energetic, eating great, running around. However I haven’t seen much improvement in color. How long does it take for color to improve? I know I need to get tests done to distinguish between regenerative vs non regenerative, fecal float and smear were all negative. Did an additional drontal plus to see if anything was remaining. Just wondering when I should see an improvement
My dog is on Tri-heart Plus (Ivermectin/Pyrantel) for monrhly heart worm prevention, but has hookworms. Can I administer Sentry Worm X Plus (pyrantel pamoate and praziquantel) on top of the Tri-heart to rid of the hookworms?
I have a kitten that has been having really soft watery poo ( diarrhea ) for about a week. so i started his worming yesterday by giving him 1/4 of a drontal tablet. However today i found some blood in the litter box and on the floor as he rubbed and dragged his but on it. Can this be sorted at home please answer me honestly and fast because i am concerned.
Hi. My dog keeps sneezing. Plus reverse sneezing
Can you use Simparica with Frontline plus or should I wait until the end of Frontline Plus skin dosing ? At three weeks post Frontline dose now, moved to a condo with a dog park and fleas are a problem
For about 6 months, Jolly has had a cough. Coughs mostly about ten minutes after waking up for around 30 secs. Is active otherwise. Meds including Caricef, Velosef, Ventolin, Azomax, Drontal haven't made any significant difference. Animal meds not available here. Vet wants to try Avil tablets and Pulmonol cough syrup, but it's impossible to make her eat/drink those. (Bitter?) Is there any feline version of these meds available abroad? Or any better, less bitter alternative that could be tried?
Is it okay to give tri heart plus and credulity at same time.
