The addition of an under-tank heater can change the temperature of an enclosure significantly. To determine what the temperatures are within Ladon's enclosure, I would recommend utilizing digital thermometers. These should be located on both the warm and cool end of the enclosure, and should be located at Ladon's level (not higher or lower than him). With that information, you can tell if the temperatures are now too hot or not. I would also recommend that you have hides present on both the cool end and on the warm end - this will provide Ladon with choices within his enclosure as well. With the water bowl, this may also be related to his enclosure temperature. I would recommend monitoring for any changes once you have determined if the temperatures are appropriate for his species. You can refer to a care sheet if needed to gather temperature information. I hope that answers your question, and thanks for using Boop by Petco!

Check the temperature in her enclosure. Ideal would be about 76 F (24C) on the cool side to about 86 F (30C) n the warm side. Her basking spot should range between 90 and 100 F (32-37.7 C). Young beardies should not be kept on sand as it can pose a risk of impaction or obstruction if they inadvertently ingest enough during feeding. Use reptile carpet, slate or paper towels until she is older or feed her outside of the enclosure. If the behavior persists, have her examined by your veterinarian or an experienced herp vet to diagnose infection or injury.

Hmmm, not an easy one :) They do have their own character and can be stubborn. The problem is that they need high ambient temperatures and humidity, and you are not going to get those in the living room. Perhaps you need a larger enclosure or a re-arrangement of the existing one. Keeping him on the couch will in a cool and dry environment (I'm guessing) will have a negative effect on his health.

Warm him up. Check your tank temps (ambient and basking). Low temps will affect activity and appetite. Use a timer to set a 12 hour light cycle. An infrared heat bulb can be used at night if room temp goes below 70F. See an experienced herp vet for an exam to diagnose illness or injury if symptoms persist. Check the water temperature. Low temps will affect appetite and activity in reptiles. You should also make sure she is in a large enough tank. The water should be no deeper than twice the shell length. Monitor for difficulty breathing, discharge or bubbles from the nose/mouth and swimming crooked. These are symptoms of potential infection and should be addressed by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles.
