Is Blue Buffalo Wilderness a good kitten food??
Hello and thanks for using Boop by Petco! In general I tend to recommend other diets aside from Blue Buffalo. I prefer Royal Canin or Science diet (and both these companies also have grain free options for kitten food if that's what you are interested in). These foods have been studied and their safety has been well demonstrated whereas some other companies do not do as much or as extensive testing of their diets. For kittens (and cats in general) an all canned food diet is preferred. Canned cat food is lower in carbohydrates and has a higher moisture content which can reduce the risk of diabetes, urinary tract disease and kitten disease as cats get older. You should also check out the packaging of food for an AAFCO statement as this ensures it is formulated for the growth of a kitten. Good luck with Jasmine!

Can you recommend a brand of wet cat food for my 9 year old cat with lymphoma? She has cachexia already. Is receiving chemo drugs. Will Blue Buffalo Wilderness Salmon work? Thank you for your help
I'm so sorry that Katie was diagnosed with lymphoma. Athough they have not done as significant of studies in cats as they have with dogs, our goals with cancer are to feed a food high in protein and fat, but low in carbohydrates. This is especially important for cats since they are obligate carnivores, so a canned food is ideal. A salmon based diet is a wonderful idea since omega 3 fatty acids can have some anti-cancer effects. My cats love Blue Buffalo Wilderness Salmon. They also love Wellness Turkey and Salmon. Cats rely on their sense of smell to entice their appetite, so smelly fish based foods are a great idea for a cat with cachexia. I also find that rotating foods on a regular basis can be very useful for cats on chemo, so they don't get turned off to a particular food if they are nauseated. I hope that was helpful! What's a good wet food for a young cat that's slightly chubby, and the wet food is high in protein, grain free, affordable, and smooth?
I feel like Wellness fits all of those categories pretty well. I guess affordable is a very relative term, but if you are only feeding one cat, one of the large cans should last you a bit. This is what I feed to my three adult cats and they all love it. You will definitely need to go to a pet food store, tractor supply, or an online supplier to obtain this food rather than a supermarket usually. Hill's also makes pretty good quality (has a grain free line) food, but I don't think their wet food is smooth like you requested. Anyway, hope this helps!

My cats aren’t eating their wellness dry food but love the wellness canned food. Is it okay if I switch to blue wilderness dry food and keep wellness canned food? They seem to be eating it that way but is it safe?
Thank you for submitting your question regarding your cats. It would be just fine to feed the Wellness canned food and the Wilderness dry, if that is what they prefer. Each dry cat food has a different amount of calories per cup though. So monitor them for any gain or loss of weight. To prevent this, you may need to adjust the daily amount of kibble offered. Hi how would you compare blue buffalo Rx diet HF hydrolyzed canned food to hills Z/d hydrolyzed rx canned diet? Trying to find an alternative to royal Canin Selected protein Rx diets which Trixie will no longer eat .. nor does she like the hills z/d
Frankly, I do not care for Blue Buffalo products because they have a history of lying about their ingredients in their diets. Hills and Royal Canin are my preferred brands. There are other limited protein food brands out there, such as Natural Balance, which has formulas with a single protein source and a single carbohydrate source, making it less likely for your cat to develop an allergy.
