Chi has chf. Heavy breathing w mouth open, lots of coughing. Gums good color, appetite and bowels/void good. When will I know it's "time"? 9yrs old, Lasix q 12hrs or PRN 6hrs, gabapentin q 12hrs PRN, enalapril q AM, pimobendan q 12hrs.

Just noticed my 5lb pomchi front left foot pinky toe bleeding/might of stopped but I think the hole nail is gone, have no idea how. Im a truck driver, so am not able to stop just anywhere (Truck stops & some a Walmart) so until I can get to a vet.. what can I do myself ? (Not sure when). Q-1. Stop any bleeding. Q-2. Make sure it doesn't get infected? Q-3. Should/how to clean it? Q-4. Should I wrap his foot up? so he doesn't keep licking it. Q-5. Anything natural that could help with pain?

I think my dog ate a Q-tip. What should I do?

My dog is in Kidney Failure and has Pulmonary Hypertension. Are sub-q fluids safe for a dog with PH as well? When are Sub-q fluids required? Wondering if it should be a regular thing no matter how he's feeling or if they should be given when I notice he isn't feeling as good.

14 yr old poodle is on Keflex 250mg Q 12 hr. for uti. 5 days later she is not peeing.

My 11 yr/o Russian Blue is given B-12 inj. (.025ml) q mo. She also gets one Denamarin that contains SAMe qd. Would either one... or both contribute to hyper activity? She has Cholangeohepitis. I'd like to see her at 11.5#s., but with her heightened activity level since introducing these meds., even with abundandent food intake, I just can't get her there. The combination has kept her liver enzymes in normal range for 5 years. No plans per her Vet. & Internist to change med regimine

Sissy's ear is doing better. I used coconut oil in it but, wouldn't be safe to clean her ear with peroxide and q tips ?

My hedgehog seems to have a very small cut on the left sid of his snout, right at the base of one of his whiskers. It’s small, about the size of a needle prick, so I couldn’t get a picture, but I used a q-tip dipped in warm water to clean off the blood and DIDNT out anything else on it. Should I use hydrogen peroxide? Neosporin? Or should I just leave it and continue to clean it with water and a q-tip.

My dog is in Kidney Failure & just diagnosed w/ Pulmonary Hypertension. Last week he got sub-q fluids, shortly after he started breathing very quick & hard (over 60 breaths a min). He ended up in emerg. I was told the kidney failure caused the rapid breathing not the fluids & he was put on IV fluids for 3 days. But, I am now scared to do sub-q fluids again as another 3 days at emerg isn't something I can afford & seems to be doing ok. Could they have caused the breathing trouble?

My 16 year old Male cat is getting 1ml of prednisone in opposite ears q 12 hours. He is grooming himself and may have ingested some. Will he be ok?

In Bangladesh. Vets are available but not means of exams, & we don't have the money for it, anyway. It's just a street cat, but has become a favorite. Vomited for 2 days ev. 2 hrs., took to Animal Hosp. & got anti-emetic, antibiotic injections, IV fluid for sub q admin. Has only eaten small bits of meat on 3/3 since 2/23. Given 200cc sub q in divided doses qd. Diarrhea, losing wt. Given rice saline w/ syringe, 3-5 ml cpl x/day. Best to put him out of his misery, or hope of recovery? Thank you. A

My dog came home from a week of boarding and has been not eating or drinking very much, very lethargic with diarrhea and sneezing + reverse sneezing quite a bit (10+ times/day) Took her in to vet on Mar 3 and dvm prescribed Omeprazole q 24 hrs x 5 days and Metronidazole q 12 hrs x 7 days. She's eating better now if rescue food is mixed with her dry food and is drinking better, however the reverse sneezing seems to be getting worse. I've also noticed clear, watery discharge from her nose.
