What does it may mean when your dog loses his ability to bark sometimes? For example: bark bark bark then he can’t get the bark out.
We got him as a rescue dog he doesn't bark or wine nor gard the house he is extremely lazy but will stare for food. He is very loved here, we jus don know how to get him to bark. What can I do to make him bark?

My I noticed that my dogs bark sometimes sounds like it cracks recently. It’s been a couple of weeks now. He can still bark but his high pitched bark is now cracking. He’s still eating and acting normally but his bark has never sounded like that before. He was also wearing a cone for a few weeks due to a hot spot not sure if that could’ve hurt his throat though.
