It is recommended that you add fish only after dosing your habitat water with Quick Start. While this additive can begin your aquarium cycle, ammonia and nitrate levels may fluctuate as your water adjusts. This game-changing treatment can limit toxic ammonia and nitrates after it starts working and allows the instant addition of your fish into a new aquarium shortly after. It is recommended that pet parents use an API Products water test strip to check their water quality before reintroducing or adding fish.
This aquarium water care solution contains live, nitrifying bacteria that kickstart the aquarium cycle immediately. It can be used in both fresh and saltwater aquariums and can be used when changing the filter. For more great information on how to maintain your freshwater aquarium water after adding Quick Start from API Fish Care, take a look at our guide, Eight Tips to Keep Your Freshwater Fish Happy and Healthy.
Yes, you can feed your fish while giving them API General Cure. API Fish Care even recommends turning your regular fish food into medicated fish food by soaking it in General Cure for 15 minutes before feeding to your pets. This can ensure that the remedy is introduced into your pets’ systems and water to maximize parasite elimination. If you still have questions about the treatment of your fish, be sure to consult your veterinarian about the best course of action.
No, this solution from API will not hurt, damage or disrupt the biological filter in your aquarium. To get great results while using this type of treatment, take out the activated carbon or filter cartridges and continue the aeration process. These solutions are specifically designed to remove elements from your aquarium water—even the fish remedy. Don’t forget to completely remove the filter while dosing with API General Cure for optimal results.

Hello I have a koi Betta fish and when I got it it use to eat all the time. Now it has stop eating for a week almost. It is bloated and hides in her house most of the time. I can't tell if its dropsy or ick or something else. I did treat it with salt and api super ick. But have seen no results expect she did poop. What can I do? She is not interested in food at all.
I've had my turtle for about 12 years he recently developed some spots on his shell I believe to be shell rot, I tried some changing the water and cleaning his filter and adding API turtle treatment with little success so I switched to a betadine treatment it's only been 3 days but I'm worried about how little he is reacting. The bacteria hasn't made his shell soft yet just discolored it. When should I see results to treatment?
My platy fish have been having white/clear poops. I did 4 treatments of API General Cure (about 3 weeks long) and there is no difference. Now one of my platy fish looks thin and his fins seem off. I'm just not sure where to go from here. I've taken them off of the treatment now as advised by a friend. First attached photo is of questionable fish. Second is of the poop (and a picture of a different healthy platy).
Hello, I have a betta and I'm sure he has moderate fin rot. Thing is I have him in a 1.1 bowl because I broke my bigger 2.5 gal tank. Ive been doing water changes and recently bought aquarium salt, bettafix, and Tail and Body Cure from API but I'm not sure how to use it in such a small tank w/o a heater... I know its such a bad environment but its not for long. I just need my betta to last a weak till I get a decent tank. Could you please give me a suggestion. I greatly appreciate your time.

My 14+ year old male cat has lost weight. It was determined that he has hyperthyroidism. So he has been an a hyperthryoidism RX since April. He is eating very well but doesn't seem to be gaining weight. Also he is drinking a good amount of water and voiding well. About every other early morning he has been throwing up a little of his fur but mostly water. Should I be concerned?
