Amlodipine

Took my cat to the emergency vet last night. Spent a lot of money. Daisy has sudden severe hypertension, no primary causes found, all labs normal. The amlodipine has not helped her symptoms. Can I double up on her meds?

Cat 1.5 years on Amlodipine 1.25mg 1x/d & Felimazole 2.5mg 2x/d. 6mon not eating, drinking more water & lost weight (4.8kg to 4kg in 3mon), got CBC & vet told me cat has anemia (28) likely CKD but when I asked about kidney function said upper normal (14). I asked for specifics, vet said would forward, instead vet nurse called to book cat for anaesthesia + $1000 aprox ultrasound & refused to release the bloodwork to me. Wanting second opinion, 10-14y/o FIV+ flea eggs found, why ultrasound?

My poor Kitty started on a new Heart med called amlodipine 2.5 mg (1/2 tab) I don’t think he’s lathagic but he sure isn’t drinking much water. He was just diagnosed with Moderate cardiac myopathy. He had a drink well drinking fountain but I was tired replacing them..had it for years. Am I stuck supplying fountains? Or is something wrong? He appears to be fine but cats are so good at covering up what’s going on. His name is Olie he’s a Four and a half and a MainCoon. Thank Yo

Hi my vet has tony on 1/4 Pepcid each day this week b/c he has some GI upset from trying new kidney diets over the last 2 weeks & this morning I heard him vocalize in the box b4 a bowel movement( he was not vocal b4 urinating)..could this be due to upset stomach? He just had his 4 mth checkup, lab work, urine check & all normal except for slight elevation in kidney values) Also is it safe for tony to take an appetite stimulant with his amlodipine,methimazole & tumil K? Thx!!

can lasinopril replace elanapril ....? or what human drug is the same as elanipril??

Hi, i have a 10 year old chihuahua and he has been diagnoser with endokardiose 3 months ago.he is prescribed furosomide 10mg twice a day, pimobendan 0.75mg twice a day and 1,25mg benazepril once a day. I have not succeded get in contains with my vet today, and my dog is breathing heavily. About 60 times a minute now. I was wondering og i should Try to give him another 10mg pill og flurosomide. I cant stand watching him siffer like this. Please hjelp. Sorry for crappy english, i am from norway.

Can I substitute Lisinopril for enalapril for 1 dose? Web says yes but would like an expert to advise

my cat is diabetic and has a heart murmur he's on vetmedin and enalapril, b-complex liquid vitamins,zobalin for diabetic cats and cosequin he has a cough due to the heart murmur what can i give him that's natural at home?

I am unable to get my cat's prescription of Enalapril 2.5Mg refilled until Tuesday. He is taking 1 pill in the AM and half a pill at night. I gave him half a pill this AM as that's all I had left. So he will not be able to take any tonight, tomorrow or Monday. Should I be worried about him going without the drug for that long? Thanks for any help. hi there i have a little dog , a poodle, Hwal. she is diagnosed CHF last year , has been fed 0.3mg bid vetmedin as her vet prescribed. but as starting taking medicine, her heart has been enlarging. is it possible overdose vetmedin makes her heart bigger? Almost right after she takes the medicine ,her heart bumps larger and faster. i have been doubting it can make her heart too bump up to make the valve weaker? can i request to reduce the dose for my vet?

12-14 year old boxer w B hip dysplasia and boxer cardiomyopathy. on sotolol and rimadyl. also takes DES for hormonal incontinence. Progressive symptoms in past 6-8 months w SOB upon minimal exertion or excitement, very characteristic of lar par. wanted to know your thoughts on doxypin.

My 11 y/o male cat is taking 12.5 mg of Felimazole a day and now is lethargic, no appetite, but drinks water... Too high of dose possibly?? He seemed fine until a few days ago..
