I got the small perch for my pionus parrot and the medium perch for my amazon parrot. The sizes compliment both of my parrots very well. I found the texture to be very interesting and fun to touch with my own hands, and my parrots seem to feel the same way! In fact, my pionus parrot prefers this perch to her wood and rope perches, which was a pleasant surprise considering that she loves her rope perch very much and is a very picky parrot. I believe that the perches are important in keeping the toe nails from overgrowing, and the skin of the feet of my parrots is not impacted at all. I am considering purchasing additional perches of this type just because of how much my parrots love them. The only slight downside was that they are a little smaller than expected, but as I previously said, the sizes I purchased were still appropriate for the species of parrots that I own.
