TOO SMALL - Do Not Buy

TOO SMALL!! If you’re going to purchase this I would only suggest using this as a travel cage. Hamsters require sooooooo much more space than this. Essentially, a cage this small will lead to stress and potentially an earlier and quick death. Please think about the well being of your small pets. And please give your hamster play time every day outside of its cage. My hamster has its own bedroom and free roams, even then I wish I could give him more!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Bought this today along with my fancy bear hamster and it’s way to small for him but it suits smaller hamsters way better but good quality.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this cage for one reason...to gawk at and "review", and possibly test it as a carrier. This thing is TINY; 47.75 sq in to be precise, 10× smaller than it should be in the US, 20× smaller in Germany, 4× for mice, 7.5× smaller for gerbils. Hermit crabs will need big tanks with deep substrate. They can't live in mesh cages. This lil thing is 6.5×11.5×12.5". A cockroach would refuse to move in. As a carrier, MAYBE. The bar spacing is 0.5" which is too big for small mice, baby rats, roborovski and most dwarf hamsters, and pets who can't get out are too big or active for this; an adult male mouse, adult gerbils, syrian hamsters, rats, etc. However, it can be used very temporarily as a carrier cage, but if that's all you'll use it for then why pay up to $46? Buy a bin, hardware cloth mesh, duct tape and put together a proper bin cage for less than $30. But if this comes with a wheel, food dish and bottle, why would you want a good cage without accessories? And don't think you're getting a good deal because of the accessories - they're awful. The wheel is the right size for arthritis and a broken spine. Because of their tails, mice need a 7.5-9" wheel, gerbils; 8.5-10", hamsters; 6.5-12", rats; 12-16". You can't use a good wheel without removing the ledge. The food bowl doesn't attach so food flies out, the ramp and balcony are terribly flimsy, the bottle leaks and the bars bend with hardly any effort. Despite how it seems, hamsters stress easily and die from it. Stress is caused by too few chews and tunnels, which this cage can't fit, tiny wheel, which this cage has, loud noises, which is muffled with a lot of bedding in a larger cage which can't be given in such a small cage and improper diet which, let's be honest, if you're buying this cage for a pet then you won't care to buy proper food. Save $46, heartache and a life. Don't throw money away at this plastic death trap, do proper research and whatever you do, don't cave to bad husbandry. It's the #1 pet killer in the world.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Please don't put a hamster inside. This cage is WAY too small. The minimum requirement for hamsters is 450in² in the US, and 650-930in² in other countries. This cage isn't suitable for ANY animal tbh.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Too Small & Too Expensive if purchased in store

Cage is way too small for most animals but ok if used as temporary cage or maybe to transport. The food dish is terrible - it's too deep and doesn't lock into place causing it to spill everywhere when your critter is climbing the walls and falls on it!! Didn't even use the exercise wheel, takes up too much space. It's super annoying that the price is TWICE AS MUCH if you buy it in the store, too!! You're better off purchasing online and picking up in store for sure with many items here.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Too Small For Anything.

Hamsterdude21

Just by looking at it I can see that it is way too small for anything. The U.S. Bare Minimum for hamsters is 450 sq. inches keep in mind that this is the BARE minimum. Also the wheel is probably too small as well. Syrians need a 8-11 inch wheel. Chinese, Campbell's and Winter Whites Should have at least a 8 inch wheel or bigger. Robos need atleast a 6 or larger wheel. So basically do not buy.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I have deer mice and field mice. Will they be able to squeeze through the bars?

  1. Yes! They escaped all the time!

what are the measurments between the bars? is this good for a robo hamster?

  1. Hi hamster_person, It has ½” bar spacing, which is best for the larger hamsters. The premium Crittertrail options have 1/3” bar spacing, better for the smaller hamsters. Thanks,

what are the measurments?

  1. Hi i_might_get_a_hamster, The dimensions are 11.5” tall, 6.5” wide, and 11.5” long. Thanks,

I have this cage for my dwarf hamster currently, should I get a bigger cage for him?

  1. Please don't put a hamster inside. This cage is WAY too small. The minimum requirement for hamsters is 450in² in the US, and 650-930in² in other countries.

What is the measurement of the bar spacing? Can my mouse squeeze through the bars?

  1. I’m getting a rat soon and from my perspective I’m totally sure a rat can’t squeeze threw a hole  like that. But, to be on the safe side see how the mouse is in the cage, then you know it works or it doesn’t work.

Would this cahe be okay for a first time mouse owner? I want her to feel comfortable in her new home.

  1. I used to have two mice in this cage and it worked very well. I would recommend this for mice but no more than two.

What are the measurements on the cage? I'm thinking of using it as a carrier cage for a parrotlet.

  1. Hi Parrotlet owner to be, The dimensions are 11.5” tall, 6.5” wide, and 11.5” long. Thanks,
