Premium Chopped Alfalfa/Timothy is manufactured by cutting Standlee forage into approximately 2-4" pieces. A small amount of canola oil is added to the chopped forage to control any potential dust. This mix combines two of the most popular forages fed to horses in a blend that is moderate to low in protein and sugar. Recommended For: Growing horses (moderate to rapid growth), underweight horses, performance horses, mares in late pregnancy and lactating, breeding stallions, senior horses, horses with sensitivity to carbohydrates and horses with gastric ulcers.

  • - Highly palatable
  • - Lower calories and protein than straight alfalfa
  • - Moderate protein
  • - Easy to feed and store

We use this chopped hay to make a mash when our horses need extra hydration. It is a huge hit!

Senior equine loves his chop!

I've been buying the alfalfa chop for several years now, my senior miniature stallion with dental issues loves to rifle his Standle chopped timothy/alfalfa looking for the choicest bits to eat, he does leave some stalkier pieces behind, but his paddock mate cleans up anything left over, quids and all.

usually this is good hay and the horses love it.The last time i bought it and one other time before it the hay was brown instead of green and smelled funny.I am hoping that this next one coming on auto ship isn’t the same because it’s is too expensive to keep throwing out.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Brown and Doesn't Smell Like Hay

Usually Great, but the four bales I just received are horrible. Looks and smells like old grass clippings. No date stamp so Standlee is unable to determine batch info.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My old lady horse seems to like it a lot

So far (just started using) my almost toothless old lady horse seems to like this & manages to eat is without a lot of globs being dropped out of her mouth. She is putting weight back on, but she's also on Equine Senior & Haystack. So, there is help out there for our old faithful beloved horses in there declining years :)

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great product - finely chopped

Very finely chopped so my older pony with bad teeth can eat it. The Standlee chopped Timothy isn’t chopped fine enough, and the chopped alfalfa is a little too rich. This is perfect. My pony loves it. Consistent quality bag after bag.

Yes, I recommend this product.
