Wonderful product, especially that it converts to a backpack style carrier. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it has a tendency to collapse a little when it's in the flat position making it a little difficult for a new pet to figure out how to get in on it's own.

This products is awful, I bought two for my cats to be in for our move across country. The reviews were great they seemed versatile & perfectly fine for long car rides. By the end of our trip both cats had rubbed the tips of their noses raw on the plastic mesh screening. For $90 a piece spend your money on a safer product!

I bought this for my 9 pound papillon/dachshund mix. She loves it and jumps right in whenever we get it out. It’s nice to travel on planes, trains and automobiles! The only two things I’d change or add are: 1) a way to seatbelt the backpack into the car 2) have a tether inside for her to attach to so I can open the top and let her head out. We’ve had this for 2 years now and still looks like new and she is in it for roughly 3-4 days a week minimum.

I was so excited to use this product to travel with our two cats wherever we decided to go, only to find out that we were missing a set of straps that should've came with the product. Without these straps, I have been unable to convert this to a carrier and am barely able to use as a backpack.

For such an expensive carrier, it should have some short handles or be more stiff, so I dont have to carry it on the shoulders and squeeze my cat with my body

Does the bottom of the carrier have a solid bottom when it’s in the backpack position? I just wonder if my pet will sink or be able to readjust comfortably while on my back.

there is a foldable hard surface that inserts into a covering and provides a surface your pet will not sink into in either position of the carrier, I walk with my 8 lb Chi in the backpack position and she is very comfortable, this has been one of my best buys for her

The zippers seem so hard to zip/unzip. Is there a trick to it without completely disturbing the animal inside?

If you lay them flat, the zippers are easier to use. Don’t try to swivel them then they are perpendicular it the zipper. Also, be mindful of the zipper lining. Tuck it in while zipping.

HOW DO I PUT THE STRAP ON FOR BACKPACK !

This drove me crazy until I read the previous answer. The instructions are terrible. The strap does not loop through itself. Just thread the clip end and the cushioned strap through the D ring at the top and attach the clip at the bottom. It’s sturdy and easy when you know how.

Hello The package says this carrier is for a max weight of 16 pounds but It seems a bit small for my 11 pound dog. Will he be comfortable?

Just tried the "showroom version" out at the store with my 11-pound chihuahua. Seems a little on the small side. I'm ordering another carrier which appears to be around the same dimensions (Good2Go Crash-Tested Pet Carrier, 18" L X 11.5" W X 11" H SKU: 2915520), just to see whether it will be a better fit.
