I am so excited to have found this gate! My mom bought this gate 18 years ago for their dogs. So far it has lasted through 2 golden doodles(65lbs & 75lbs), and a lab/weimaraner mix(80lbs). My mom gave it to me to help block off the kitchen for my 8 month ridgeback puppy (81lbs). I have tried retractable gates and other swing gates however nothing has been as durable as this gate. We are now purchasing a second to block off the opposite side of the kitchen. The gate is very easy to use one handed when your hands are full. The fact that the door swings open both ways is really nice in tight doorways. Does not damage the door casing. It wears nicely over time the only obvious sign of wear and tear is along the top where the finish has worn off a bit, however a little stain would take care of that.

We do like this pet gate. It fits our needs-tall, walk-through, sturdy. The packaging was packed extremely well. Unfortunately the plastic gate handle on the top was broken off. Ordered a 2nd one & it arrived undamaged. The gate is attractive & sturdy. We do feel a higher quality material on the handle rather than plastic would fit better with this high quality gate.

It's beautiful and functional. Easy to open and close. Once I had the correct set of directions, easy to install. Keeps our cat where we need her - out of our hall and bedroom.

Great dog gate-Very sturdy. Has a great look of a wooden gate, instead of ugly white metal looking gates, like others. It is also easy to operate and seems to be idiot proofs I always have trouble opening and closing other gates-this one is much easier. We really love this gate!!!!

I have several of these beautiful gates protecting living room and dining room hardwood floors from my two German Shepherds. I love the one hand ability to open and close the gate. The fact that the gate swings both ways is awesome when carrying items up or down stairs. Yes, I have a gate at bottom hardwood stairs of foyer and entry to family room. The tall gate is used on bottom of stairs. These gates are also perfect for little children. Both my daughters have purchased Richell gates for their homes also. Some of our gates are over ten years old and used daily.
