Excellent Food

Megan D

Started my field trial Golden Retriever on this after she lost weight with no GI signs noted. I did an abdominal ultrasound, and everything checked out normally. I was advised to switch to a higher qualiry, higher calorie diet. I had heard good things, and now I am a believer. Her coat looks good. Her poops look good. She is the perfect weight now. Very happy with this diet.

How much does a cup of kibble weigh? In other words, how many cups of kibble per 37.5lb bag?

  1. Thank you for taking the time to ask this great question, we're happy to help out. Using a cup size of 8 oz., you will find a 37.5lb bag of kibble has 150 cups per bag. Please feel free to reach out to us directly by calling 800-776-7526 (800-PROPLAN), if you have any additional questions or concerns. Thank you. - The Pro Plan Team.

Good for vizsla … both adults and puppies?

  1. I used it for my Belgian Malinois puppy and it worked well. It's a high calorie dog food, so if it's a high energy dog this would be a good solution.

My 2 chihuahuas boys lick their paws and itch all the time.  They roll around on the carpet.  I’ve been buying this food for awhile now.  Is this food causing this?

  1. We're sorry to hear your dogs are licking and itching all the time. Please know we appreciate your loyalty to Purina Pro Plan and don't believe our food is causing this reaction. We suggest giving your trusted veterinarian a call about possible food related allergies, as they would know your dogs the best. Then please feel free to reach out to us directly at 800-776-7526 (800-PROPLAN), to discuss the best food to switch your sweet Chihuahuas to. We're available 7 days a week from 8 AM – 5 PM CST. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We look forward to speaking with you soon. Thanks again. - The Pro Plan Team.

Is proplan sport good for my 10week old golden doodle?

  1. My breeder had my golden doodle on it and decided to stay with it she is a happy healthy girl

pro plan sport 30/20 would this be good for a boxer

  1. I feed this to my pit and older Shepard mix. I have also fed to my daughter's mini dachshund with no problems. It was recommended to me for muscle loss in my Shepard. I have used this for about 3 years now and love it for my fur babies.

Is the 30/20 okay for small breed dogs? I have a nine month old Yorkie

  1. My vet put my 90 lb lab on this food to help him gain weight as he is very active. Not sure about a yorkie

is this food good for a 7 weeks old GSD puppy or I should try Large puppy food first ?

  1. No I would just use Purina Puppy chow that’s what I fed and was recommended by the breeders that I got my dogs from. They need the puppy food for a while,

Is Purina dog food made solely in the U.S. or is it made somewhere else?

Is this food good for a nursing mom and puppies 6 month old?

    1. Yes it's great!

A Purina customer service rep recommended this food. I have a small dog - maltipoo. Are the kibbles small enough for small dogs?

    1. Yes. My daughters mini dachshund, about 11-13 lbs, also eats this food when visiting my house.
