Great food for kitty with IBS

Heather57

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Suki is a special-needs kitty. When we adopted her, she weighed 4 1/2 pounds and was six years old. Her owners had just put her outside and left her defend for herself. We started feeding her Friskies because that’s what we fed our other cats but everything she ate gave her diarrhea and she was wasting away. We started feeding her pro plan, sensitive stomach and skin formula and now she weighs 6 1/2 pounds. Thank you for making such a great product that addresses special needs diets. Your generosity in sending us a coupon was much appreciated.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Pittbull turned 7 years old in February. We switched her from the regular to the 7 Senior food. She has actually lost weight because of the proper calorie content, still helps with her millions of allergies,

Incredible kibble

BTT1

A few months ago I had taken in two senior cats that were barely eating their original food and regularly throwing up. After coming across this brand online I picked up a bag. Not only did they take to it quickly, licking the bowl clean, but the vomiting had drastically reduced. This has been an incredible kibble that has tremendously helped my cats.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

What is the difference between this with probiotics and the one without known as Focus? What is the carb count on this one?

  1. Probiotics are important & so are omega 3 fatty acids; however many pet foods don't have any in them, so whenever possible always go for the pro/ prebiotics & omega 3 rich formula foods. Fish formulas I steer clear from because I hear the iodine contributes to a well-known disease that requires a veterinary prescription for medication each day. Go for the probiotics!! Yes.

What is the daily feeding amount for a 2 yr old cat weighing around 12 lbs? The bag only says 2/3 c to 1 c which is a big spread. I find it confusing. The current food I'm using states a definite amount of 1/2 cup per day.

  1. I feed my cats about 3/4c a day but split it into 4 different feedings. Once in the morning and at night I give them a whole quarter cup and once in the afternoon and once before bed I give them half a quarter of a cup. They got real used to my schedule and like to play that they’re always hungry, so it’s the best way I’ve found to feed my two

Did this food go through AAFCO trials? Thank you!

  1. Bag does not say it did specifically BUT it does state "Manufactured and Guaranteed by: Nestle Purina PetCare Company, St. Louis, MO 63164 USA"

Does this come in soft food also for adult cats

  1. Great question! We do have Sensitive Skin & Stomach Duck Entree Grain Free Classic and Sensitive Skin & Stomach Arctic Char Entree Grain Free Classic. You can see more here: https://puri.na/2SN1iCU and here: https://puri.na/2BJ5fOr. - The Pro Plan Team

Does it hold up in saltwater tanks ?

  1. Thank you for your question. The heater may be used in a saltwater tank. However, keep the controller away from water. To avoid short circuit, do not expose the power plug and receptacle to moisture and salt.

what size fish tank is this heater go up to?

  1. Read the description carefully - this is a controller for a separate heating unit (sold separately). It can be used with UP TO an 800 watt heater or heating element. It's a really good price for a temperature controller. I have two and use one with an 800 watt Finnex heating element in my 85 gallon freshwater tank, and the other on a 37 gallon quarantine/hospital tank with a 150 watt heating element. I have also used this controller with a regular heater that had it's own thermostat as a kind of "double insurance" that if the thermostat on the submersible heater did not work properly the controller would act as a double-check to prevent overheating by regulating power to the heater, thus keeping the tank at proper temperature. The size heater you need for your 75 gallon tank is also influenced by the ambient room temperature. It's best to search the internet for an aquarium heater chart to calculate the size heater you need to use with this controller. Some use the 5 watts per gallon rule as a minimum. Bigger tanks would benefit from the use of more than one heater. I hope this helps you and others!

how long is the cord on the temp sensor

  1. Thank you for your question. The Finnex Digital Heater Temperature Controller +Memory have a 44" water-temperature sensor probe cord. The power cord that plugs into the wall is approximately 66".

Is it possible to use more than one heater with the controller?

  1. Yes, as long as the total heater load is under the controllers maximum rating. As a side note I set the controller to the desired setting and my Jager heater about 5-6 degrees warmer just in case the controller should ever fail in a locked on position.
