Cheap construction, broke after first use

Dstive1

This is a decent design and easy enough to put together, but it’s constructed with incredibly cheap and weak materials. I was able to use it once with no issue and the next time I went to install it, the soft plastic attachment point for the set screw that secures the vertical support had completely stripped. The screw won’t tighten, so the vertical support is useless. I am currently using a bungee cord to keep the gate in place. My dog never even pushed or pulled on it; this was just from installing and removing it one time.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Purchased this product and in less than a week it broke because the set screw that holds the height you want went through the bar that holds it in place. Later on the set screw snapped off. Overall cheap and I would stay away from it

Good product

Sturdy and works well. It is made of metal, which is good. It took 30 minutes to install and you have to crawl into the back of your vehicle.

I bought this to keep my cane corso contained in the back of my expedition. It was easy to install and works perfectly!

Didn't work well for us

The product was fine just didn't work well for us and our dog. Taylen is a 80 lb German shepherd and if he sees an openingsl he is going to come through. It was just flimsy for what we wanted it for. Smaller dog it would work well most likely.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Flimsy and doesn’t work

This thing is horrible. I’ll be returning it as soon as I get back from my trip. The bars that lock into place against the floor and ceiling don’t actually lock, so the legs collapse and the barrier will not stay in place. Do not recommend.

Poor Quality

We bought this in 2019 and have used it only four times. The feet that are used to extend the vertical rods between the ceiling and floor of the vehicle somehow broke. So now it doesn't stay in tight and can easily fall over. There is a one year warranty, but that doesn't help if you only use once or twice a year. Further, they don't offer replacement parts, so we're just out of luck. I recommend finding an alternative product from a different company.

Nice Barrier

Needed a barrier to take our 2 large dogs on trip (a Portie and golden retriever). Was able to put legs down in the slight crack between middle seats and back seats of our Highlander. Not sure if it would have fit if I had to put the feet on the back seats. You really need to wedge it in there tightly against the roof, but has worked perfectly in keeping them safe and secure while driving.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Will this work in a sedan? Ford Taurus 4 door.

  1. You will need to extend the legs all the way up on both top and bottom, but I am quite sure it will.

We have this unit and one of the suction cups got lost. How can we get another one?

Will this extend to be tall enough for a minivan?  I want to put the last row down and give the dog as much space as possible.

    1. It is about 47" fully extended. I hope that helps.

Will this work for cats?  Are the bars close enough together?  We are making a cross country trip to move and we don’t want to keep them in cages the whole time.

    1. No, they are too far apart. I had my 2 cats in a wire crate when I moved giving them enough room to move around and I used the barrier keep the dogs away from the crate.

My 3rd row is down, but my second row is bucket seats. Will this work with a 80lb doberman and bucket seats?

    1. It secures by putting pressure at the top and bottom of the gate. The bottom part is on the flat part of the folded down third row, and the top part is pressed against the ceiling. There are also horizontal bars that span the entire width, so the second row bucket seats should not be a factor at all. When secured with enough pressure (make it snug), it keeps my 85lb Berner safely in the back.

Will this work in a two door Wrangler?

    1. Yes it definitely would

Will this work in an extended cab pickup truck?

    1. It may, I have a Jeep Patriot and the legs reach the floor easily, just measure floorboard to roof and check the leg extension measurements on the packaging.
