My cat does like it and will use it, but it does not help to stop furniture clawing, in fact it makes it worse. We moved it so it isn't near the sofa and let her have at it. But when on sofac she thinks the whole sofa is fair game, so it doesn't protect anything at all, just makes her want to pull herself from the pad to the sofa and all around. I like that she uses it, but I have to put it somewhere away from the sofa and chairs.

For protecting furniture, this does exactly as it says. My cat enjoys scratching this more than the couch now (yay!). However, the little toy that hangs off is not attached well. My cat pulled it off in the first 24 hours. This is concerning since it can be an obvious choking hazard, etc., and since it obviously is out all the time, there’s no way to monitor them. Attach the toy with something better or just remove it.
