Hello Dr. My cat has been experiencing significant weight loss, whilist she continues to eat, play, sleep normally. Being worried we took her today to the wet and did some blood tests. Results are attached below. The doctor did a scan of her liver too and determined that 3/4 is not working properly. I am really worried about the next steps. My cat is 11 years old. Could you please suggest a treatment based in these results? I really appreciate your help. Kind regards. XV
Cat 1.5 years on Amlodipine 1.25mg 1x/d & Felimazole 2.5mg 2x/d. 6mon not eating, drinking more water & lost weight (4.8kg to 4kg in 3mon), got CBC & vet told me cat has anemia (28) likely CKD but when I asked about kidney function said upper normal (14). I asked for specifics, vet said would forward, instead vet nurse called to book cat for anaesthesia + $1000 aprox ultrasound & refused to release the bloodwork to me. My male neutered cat : 15 years old, DSH, 17 lbs. Had hyperthyroidism cured last year through I-131 treatment. Recently had latest wellness exam ( 3rd since 1-131 treatment). Got complete blood work. TT4 remains normal. SDMA 10, Crea 1.6, BUN 30. But his fPLI is 38.8 -- super high! Monocytes 735. Had no distress symptoms at wellness exam, except 1 lb. of weight loss from the previous visit. Has normal appetite, solid poop. Still playful at times. What does his fPLI value mean??
