What is the bottom of the pool made from? My dog loves to scratch the bottom to splash water on his chest. He currently uses a plastic round kiddy pool and it holds up well, but difficult to drain.

My very large male cat has trouble getting intout his litter pan.. Do you know where I can get a large, very large pan?
My young dog (somewhere between 1-2 Y/O) loves to swim. However we do not have a pool so the best option is to take him to the local lake. Our leash isn’t long enough to let him get any further than 4 inches deep in the water so we let him off the leash to swim. He saw geese on the other side of the lake and tried to swim across. He got so far that I had to swim 60 yards into the lake and back to bring him back. Any advice to let him swim but stay away from another scary situation like today.
