I was a little skeptical about how this would work, but it turned out to be a great purchase! I started out training our small dog to sit inside with the top flap unzipped. I fed him a treat and then released him after a few minutes. Within a few days, he was asking to be put in . Then we started short trips around the house, wheeling it like a suitcase and slipping him a treat and praise every few minutes.he caught on right away and liked how cozy and secure he felt. The only improvement to be made is that when the weather is cold or wet, the lower mesh secrions allow moisture in, splash up from the wheels. I cut the end off a stretchy flannel pillowcase, and pulled it over the whole bag, rolling down the top part so my dog could could see out , but covering the lower half . This worked great! Our dog loves traveling with us, and this is a safe, secure way to take him from car to hotel, crowded areas where he might get stepped on, or new situationscwhen hes nervous. We love it!

Does the bottom wheel platform come off? In order to store under an airline seat it needs to be able to compress down to fit. Therefore this feature is important to an airline traveler, like me. Thank you.
