Working on a small section at a time, part the hair to the skin and brush in the direction of hair growth. It is important to use a light stroking action to allow the pins to ease through the coat. Thumb pad will help to guide. Medium coats & wiry coats - Start by brushing in the direction of the hair growth, then against it to remove mats and tangles.Long coats - Brush in the direction of hair growth, parting the layers. Use a light stroke which goes beyond the end of the hair to avoid breakage.Curly coats - Dead hair does not readily fall out of their coats. It is important that curly coats be brushed two or three times a week. Their coats should be brushed to the skin to avoid deep matting.

Hello, I have a 7 year old black lab. He's a big boy who gets very hot in warm weather so likes to lie on the coolest surface he can find which is always hard. Consequently, he has callouses on his elbows but they have become a lot bigger this year and one of them looks sore. I just wondered what Ii could do to alleviate this problem. Is there a spray or some product which could help? Thank you.Judith Burke
My dog is a maltese/poodle and about 6 yrs. old. He was a rescue from PetCo. We are not active people being in our 70's and have med. conditions but he sometimes gets a run but usually a mild walk. He has been chewing at his front legs to where they are discolored. At his last grooming his eyes became irritated from the eyebrows being shaved too close and he kept rubbing them so I washed them with a boric acid solution made for humans. They seem better but still have the hard gunk on the edges.
Hello, I have read that due to Boston Terrier's short coat and dryer skin, that it's important that I take care of her skin and coat by using a high quality shampoo with a high quality conditioner in it that both have the best and right ingredients in them "specifically for a Boston". I prefer both in one bottle. So I would really appreciate sending me 2-3 high quality products that you highly recommend specifically for Bostons that will maintain a healthy smooth silky shiny coat for my Boston ?
What is the best solution for my puppy's coat? She's a black lab and german shepherd mix and her hair is kind of wiry and gets quite... oily? I guess... and she itches often. I've read that you shouldn't bathe dogs too much but baths seem to be the only thing that calms the itching.
