Wonderful
I’ve had this for several months and it has not given me one problem. It fits nicely and I never worry about my girl slipping out of it. She uses it several times (on and off) every day. It has never failed me!

Great ATO
This is a great ATO. Installed it in under 2 minutes. Very reliable and easy to adjust to your desired level. I use mine to keep my refugium water level consistent. Makes the process so much easier.

Would not recommend. Flimsy, broke on day 2
I bought this and took advantage of the free embroidering also. Put it on my pup and it broke on day two. Not from yanking or pulling, just broke while he was sitting. Got a full refund, but I wouldn't recommend it.

False alarms
Would NOT recommend. The alarm goes of for no apparent reason. Very upsetting in middle of the night. Pump died week 2, sensor died week 4 No customer service to call.

Keeps sump at required level
I have this set up in a wet/dry sump with a 10 gal. reservoir tank. The ATO keeps the water level in the sump right at the desired level, and has been doing so for about 6 moths now with no problems. Beats lugging pails of water to top off the sump.

Great product but poor customer service
Price shown with a Canadian leaf (canadian price?) after purchasing the product thinking I got it a little cheaper through here. I got billed nearly twice the cost!! I contacted customer service and was brushed off. Never again deal with dr foster&smith!!!! I do NOT recommend buying from here especially if you are canadian!!!!!

I’ve been looking at these harnesses, but can’t find the chest circumference for the adjustability. Can someone inform me on the inches that the xsmall and small adjust too? I need to know so I can order the appropriate size for my two dogs.

Supply tube length and pump capability
- g144 Thank you for your question. We sincerely apologize as the AutoAqua Smart ATO Automatic Top Off System would not work for your aquarium. The feed pump itself is not capable of producing water past 6ft. The full length of the tubing that is provided is the maximum length the pump can effectively pump.

Min level
- It only has one sensor, that would be your max water level. So there is no minimum water level. The water is drawn from what ever container your using for water storage by the ATO's pump.

My sump is made of 3/8" black glass - does the optical sensor work through this glass?

Water line below the rim?
- Correct, the sensor is round and the water level is the middle of the sensor. The sensor is about an inch wide, so your water level would be approx. rim width plus half an inch.

Kalkwasser with this top off
- Thank you for your question. We reached out to the manufacturer and they said the following: Some people do this but they do it when dealing with large system. In small system such as a 40 gal tank, using Kalkwasser for top off would be detrimental as it would bring the pH of the water in the tank down very fast and would stress the inhabitants. I would recommend against it.

How long are the wires on this ATO. Wire from the pump to the sensor and wire from the sensor to the AC adapter.
