Picky eater liked it

srom13

We have a super picky eater and we have been eliminating chicken and beef as he has mild allergies to both. We purchased this today and was surprised he liked it and ate his dinner. We added salmon pate as he absolutely loved as well. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, would have preferred no barley but if he likes it I’m ok with it. Hoping he continues to enjoy this flavor.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The Corgi pup who is a very fussy eater and hasn't really liked any of her kibble so far loves this and runs to her crate when it's mealtime. Win!

Been using Canidae and can see an improvement in my dog's fur/skin allergies. Good quality food. Not inexpensive - but worth it. As far as I know, it's still a family run company.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great food for those who do well on salmon protein foods! High quality grains and is great for dogs who have sensitive stomachs or are picky eaters. It’s unfortunate my dog ended up having a fish allergy but I still highly recommend this food!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Dogs like, but I don't like the mites. Seemed like a lot of floury, small grain particles... that seems to be increasing over time.

No, I do not recommend this product.

ENGAGEMENT & LOYALTY TEAM
Thank you for sharing your experience. We are happy to hear that your dogs are a fan of Goodness Salmon and Brown Rice. It sounds like what you are describing are kibble fines. Our pet food is made in small batches. The variation in color, size and shape that you may notice from bag to bag can be attributed to the natural key ingredients that we use in our products. We do not use any chemical binders to help form the kibble. To help reduce &#34;crumbs&#34; or &#34;fines&#34;, we use the latest technology to separate them from the kibble before packaging. We hope this helps. If you haven’t tried already, you could always try to add some water to the kibble residue and use it as a topper if your pup prefers that. Thank you for your sharing and for being a part of the #canidaecrew! <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/CANIDAE.png" alt="CANIDAE" title="CANIDAE" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" /> <!--[if ReviewResponse]><![endif]-->

Questions

Why are 25 lb bags no longer available here or at Petco?

  1. Hi there! We apologize for the inconvenience, but Canidae Goodness is no longer available in-store at Petco. However, you can still purchase the 25lb bag of Salmon & Brown Rice on petco.com. We hope this helps you get your Canidae fix. Please let us know if you have any questions, and we are always here for you at support@candiae.com. Thank you for being a part of the #caniadecrew, and we hope that you have a pawtastic day!

The feeding instructions are about 1 cup less than other kibble because its so calorie-dense. Does anyone's dog get really hungry between meals with the smaller portion?

  1. My dogs do not get hungry due to the lower volume.  If your dog is getting hungry, maybe split up their daily allotment into 2 or 3 (maybe even four if needed) portions and feed throughout the day.

How much protein and fiber?

  1. According to the Canidae's website (see link in above question): Crude Protein (min.) 23% Crude Fat (min.) 15.00% Crude Fiber (max.) 5.00% Moisture (max.) 10.00% Linoleic Acid (omega 6) (min.) 2.79% Alpha Linolenic Acid (omega 3) (min.) 0.73% Vitamin E (min.) 50.00 IU/kg Taurine (min.) 0.10% Vitamin C (min.) 15 mg/kg Glucosamine (naturally occurring)** (min.) 600 mg/kg Chondroitin Sulfate (naturally occurring)** (min.) 1,250 mg/kg Lactobacillus acidophilus** (min.) 220,000 CFU/g

My puppy needs to go on a dairy free adult dog food that is NOT grain free. Would this food be good or are there any suggestions?

  1. I'm not a vet but it took me a longgg time to find a non grain free food with ingredients that I liked that my finicky husky pup actually loved and this seemed to be the one. He's at a perfect weight, his coat looks amazing and he's not itchy and gassy like he was before.

Second time I'm asking for the AAFCO statement and calorie count. Also why doesn't Canidae have this food on their website?

  1. They have all of the information on Canidae's website. https://www.canidae.com/dogs/canidae-salmon-brown-rice-dry-dog-food/
