WITHIN A MONTH OF BUYING IT, THE TOP CARPET PART IS SHREDDED AND I AM CONSTANTLY PICKING UP PIECES OF IT.

I was impressed from the moment I opened the package. This a very well made, should last a long time Scratcher. So far my cat loves it. I don't know about the tail, but some cats may really enjoy it. I would definitely buy this Scratcher again.
