We're pretty sure our male German Shepherd has a hygroma on his left elbow (We have laminate flooring). This site doesn't recommend draining it. We are enroute to purchase a dog bed now.
Why does my dog chew up his beds? What would be the best bed for an aging dog?
I recently purchased a memory foam mattress topper that is CertiPUR-US certified. This means that it contains VOC’s that are less than 0.5 parts per million which is the safe range for humans. However, I am wondering if this is also a safe range for dogs as my dog sleeps on my bed each night. The company claims that they also do not use dangerous chemicals in their foam and I know that some dog beds are regulated by CertiPUR-US as well. I want to be sure that this memory foam will not harm Timo.
What pain medicine and/or supplements can Watson take given his low body weight of 3.3 pds at 7 months? He's been rather sick, and the doctor noted his back leg muscles had begun to atrophy. He's trying to move, but it's obvious he's in a lot of discomfort. Could an orthopedic bed help at all as well? I'm fighting alongside him in his recovery.
Hi, I have a F1 Miniature Poodle and Bernese Mountain Dog Mix that I am picking up on Wednesday. The mother (Bernese) is 60 pounds and the father (mini poodle) is 15 pounds. Can you advise me on what sized Crate to buy? I'm not sure how big he will be and I was looking online and thinking of buying a 36-inch Intermediate size crate. My pet has torn all his beds and now sleeps on a blanket or a bedsheet. I hope that won't cause any joint problems in the long run? It seems that he is comfortable sleeping this way. Is it safe?
Coco has arthritis in his left hind leg. He's had two recent flare ups when scratching at his ears. He's had the arthritis for a while now and the vet prescribed Novox, and I've been giving him an oatmeal bath with vitamin E and half of a Benadryl for itching and it seems to help. We crate him at night but I still worry about his hip. Is there anything I can do or is it just something that comes with age? He's been doing a lot better, but I just would like to know what would help.

Hi, I have a great Pyrenees's/Anatolian shepherd. She's almost 6yrs old, 105 lbs She has arthritis in her hind legs and back. Her vet has her on osteo biflex and prevocox 227 mg daily. She's active. But getting up and moving around for the first couple minutes is really hurting her. After that she moves stiffly. What else can I do for her?
