Our beloved Sage has two nodes on his left hind leg, when he gets up from laying down on the floor, bed he is limping around, I would like to know what to do about this it seems to be getting a little bit more problematic (help please if possible)

My 7 year old boxador has areas of fur on his upper hind legs/lower back that look like the fur is separate from the rest. hello, my dog is a german shepherd and 2 years old. He recently jumped over the fence and now he yelps when I touch around his right paw but he is still able to walk around without limping and jump on the be but yep occasionally
My dog doesn't bother his paw all day. When we go to bed he picks and shines over his back left paw. There is nothing different to see. He does need to whimper when I touch it. He does not tender it at any other time.
By shihpoo has front dewclaws and the pads they are attached to are clack, crusty and crumbly. his nails are also black so I am afraid to trim them too short but not sure what to do about the crusty pads. Any advice?
