The ideal spot for a crate is out of direct sunlight, and in the same place every day. Choose a crate large enough for your adult dog to comfortably stand up, turn around and lie down, but remember that too much room defeats the purpose of a den and may result in more potty accidents. Use the puppy divider included with your crate to limit space while they're still small.

What size crate should I purchase for an adult German Shepherd I am planning to adopt?
So my dog keeps peeing in her kennel. I have started making more frequent potty breaks and that has helped some. But she still has accidents about twice a week. So I have thought about getting her a smaller kennel. She is in a 42’’ wire kennel. She can lay in a ball in the corner of it and not take up much room. She is too tall for a smaller kennel. What should I do? Also she had had all her bloodwork done and nothing is wrong. She is 30’’ tall and 30’’ long.
Hello. We have a 9 week male Morkie named Grits. We are trying to potty pad training and crate training. We let him out every 2 hours and let him do his business. Then we play with him for a bit, then back to the crate. Our question is, can we move the crate upstairs with us when we go to bed? The wife would really like for him to sleep in bed with us,but not until he is potty trained
I am crate training my German shepherd puppy, although, I am having a bit of trouble. During the day I leave the crate door opened for him, and he goes in as he pleases. At night time he goes in his crate and does not whine or cry as long as I am sleeping near him. On the other hand, during the day when he goes in and I lock the door and step away from his sight he cries and whines. How do I move passed this behavior? I want him to enjoy his crate, especially when I have to run an errand.
My dog pees and poops on the carpet when we leave and at night . We have tried everything and she finds her way out . Metal cage-rips gums and teeth out, mesh cage chews her way out, kitchen with a gate chewed base boards has to have wood slivers removed from her mouth, we have take her to the vet many times no urinary trac infection being in her senior years ( 9) . We have sent her to day cares and she just freaks out barks the entire times and they call us to pick her up and nobody sits her.
Crate training my 10 week old Aussiedoodle. His 1st week he’s gotten good at going into the crate at night & when I say goodnight he doesn’t whine much. when I get him up at night to potty, the same thing but he usually falls asleep seconds later. Problem is when I walk away or out of his sight. I’m trying to use clicker training but don’t know how to crate, walk away & then reward in small doses because he loses his mind when I’m out of sight & trying to reward any silence is hard. Help?
Hi there. Rescued chocolate lab used as a breeding dog. She was never potty trained. I guess kept outside in a large cage. People shouldbe jailed... Have tried rewarding ect. The normal methods. Very good dog now has big yard. Choosing to bathroom in house on carpet of course. willing to try anything to work through this. Any recommendations or tricks? Tried treats, praising. Not sure what else besides trainer (expensive) but not out of question.
My 3 month old pup seems to have separation anxiety. My boyfriend and I both work during the day, one of us coming home at lunch to walk her. During the time we are not at the house we put her in a kennel. She barks constantly and has accidents in her kennel. I wanted to get her a gated off play-pen that i could leave her in while we are at work. I figured it is more room to let her roam around a bit and I can put her favorite bed/ toys for comfort. Is this a bad or good idea for a young puppy?
My Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix has had to stay in her pet taxi/ kennel for up to 13 hours a night. Due to night shift-job. She hasn't had any accidents in the kennel. However after I'm home for a little while she starts having accidents in the house. She's a year and a half old and weighs 7lbs. Is it unhealthy for her to hold her urine and stool that long ?
My 8 week old puppy has been staying in my room for 3 days now, is it okay to move his bed to another location in my house, say the garage?
Well I read that I shouldn't let my puppy be in the crate alone for more than 2 hrs all day exception of over night. My puppy pees every time I let her in my room. So does that mean I have spend all my time looking after or being near my puppy? If not what do you recommend I do when I'm busy or dont have time for her? I have a female gsd of abt 2 and a half month
My situation is-I live in 1BHK rented house. The dog cannot be much barking as per landlord. I'm a first time dog owner. I'm a student, so I'll be raising the dog on my money. Average temp in our area is 35°C. Vet is outside our city, so frequent visits are not possible. I want the dog to be cuddly (plz). The dog will be left alone for 8 hours daily, for 5 days a week. But rest time,I'll play with him lot.Plzzz help me Sir/Mam. And yeah one thing, I promise I'll adopt a dog, just like my parents
