Cat allergy symptoms can present themselves in various forms depending on the root allergy. Your veterinarian can perform blood or skin tests to determine specific allergies that are troubling your kitty. Signs of allergic reactions that can prompt a trip to the vet include the following.
Difficulty breathing is often a sign of severe cat allergies, and pet parents should contact their veterinarian immediately if this symptom is observed. Cats with asthma can be especially susceptible to environmental allergies, so it’s recommended they are treated with the proper cat allergy medications as soon as they’re diagnosed.
Absolutely. Allergy season can wreak havoc on your kitty just like it does humans, and they may need a cat allergy supplement or prescription allergy medication, depending on the severity. Regular grooming and bathing can help reduce the symptoms of your feline’s pollen allergy, as well as reducing the number of pollen-producing plants on your property.
Skin conditions can be tricky because there may be a variety of underlying issues causing them. With allergies, it’s recommended that you consult your veterinarian to make sure a proper diagnosis is made using an allergy test. Here are a few possible allergies that—if properly treated—may provide your cat itch relief.

My pet has skin allergy..all tym he has itching problem..name of a medicated spray which prevent itching problem
How can I treat my cat's allergy? He has it on his face and neck and is making himself bleed by scratching.
My cat is having a bad time with seasonal skin allergies, he is itchy and uncomfortable. What treatments can I do at home to ease his itching until I can get him in to his regular vet?
Tips for skin allergies in cats? Vet said it looked like allergies. Gave him a shot which helped but he started scratching after a little while. Stopped fancy feast wet food, temptation treats and litter with baking soda. Now using fir pellets. Stayed on Royal Canine Senior Consult Dry, just purchased Anallergenic dry. He’s pulling his fur out now on the side of his body. Was thinking I should tell the person I share a laundry machine with to use less fragrance...?
I wanted the v et to give my cat her monthly comfortis tablet and he suggested broadline. I expressed my concern that she might be allergic to it as the other vet suggested comfortis because of her showing an allergy to spot on. He said It's highly unlikely and I agreed to give it a try. Now she scratches non stop and she even allows me to scratch her around her next and chin which she normally doesn't like. What can she take to ease the itching?
My cat has been excessively scratching her neck and she's losing hair, what can I use to help with the itch?
Both my cats have developed an allergy to something, scratching and grooming mire than usual. One of the cats is taking a steroid pill which has helped. What would be the most common cause of their allergies?
My female cat has a some type of alergy and is broke out on her back to the point that is seeping is there a natural remedy I can use on her.
My cat seems to have a skin issue. She’s been itching & shedding excessively for a couple months. Vet thought it was a flea allergy but no fleas are found, just lots of dead skin. Any OTC treatments like shampoos, antihistamines, or ointments recommended?
I believe my cat is having Allergies. After we moved from our home town she started having coughing fits occasionally. It's not enough to harm her I don't believe. Another cat of mine, who came from the same home town, has this issue as well. We took him to the vet for a possible UTI and the vet said it was apparently allergy induced because his bladder was not full and appeared to be fine. (I assume he was stressed out). Is there any way I can help my cat ease her allergies at home?
My cat started scratching her face and ears until she was bloody and scabbed. A trip to the vet was no help. I started her on Cetirizine 5mg daily, and her face and ears healed well except for the area under her chin. For some reason that area is still affected. Would a topical medication help? Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!
My 5 yr old female Tuxedo Cat, Has Terrible Dermititis! Her Skin is So Sensitive to Her Food, and Litter. She Hates Carpet, and Her Back Hind Legs Are Chewed So Raw. Can I Use an Inahistamine on Her? She's already coughed up, 2 hair balls. Please Help!!!
