Con rats on your new beardie! Conflicting information online can certainly drive you crazy. I'm not sure if you had a question or concern since the post was truncated. Juvenile beardies need temps that are a bit higher than adult dragons. As Sam gets older, you can make adjustments. For now, the basking area should range from 35C to 43C. Ambient temps should range between 29C and 32C. Nighttime temps should not drop below 22C. You can use a ceramic heat emitter at night if necessary. This is a heater that does not emit visible light which can disturb your beardie at night. Humidity levels should be 35%-40%. Beardies come from desert environments. High humidity can predispose them to respiratory infection. Use high quality thermometers and hygrometers to monitor parameters. I have a fancy bearded dragon that is almost one now. When I first purchased him we got a 10 gal tank and he seems to be getting bigger. Do you think if I purchase a 40 gal tank he’ll be set for a year or two? Thank you.
Yes, I think a 40 gallon tank will be sufficient for now and may be enough long term depending on hiow big he gets. Just make sure to properly control his environment with temperature, an area to eat, and an area to hide away. Good luck! Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Beardies are omnivores and eat a mix of greens and live prey. Adult beardies will eat more greens than prey. At his age, Majesty can be fed once daily. Alternate between prey and greens. Don't forget to dust food with a calcium supplement as well as a multivitamin. Always have fresh water available. Offer different types of greens such as mustard greens, dandelion greens, kale, bok choy or raw cabbage. Vegetables that can be fed include celery, carrots, squash and pumpkin. This list is my no means inclusive. If he won't eat greens, chop them finer and add strawberries or blueberries to the mix. Mixing in crickets or mealworms may also stimulate the appetite. As long as the stool is formed, size isn't an issue. It will change depending on how much and what he eats. A light cycle of 12 hours on and 12 hours off is sufficient. To get him acclimated to you, simply spend time with him. Initially, you'll want to just sit by his cage, then progress to placing your hand in the cage then

With that black beard, he does seem stressed. Check temps in the cage. Low temps can affect activity in reptiles. Survey the area in and around the enclosure for any negative stimuli. This may include loud noises, strong vibrations, cold drafts or high traffic. reduce or eliminate any if found. I just want to know if my tank looks ok and if I might need anything else. P.S. the temperature isn't as high because I just connected the lights because I was cleaning the tank. The grass is fake btw
Ideally, the UVB light source should run the entire length of the tank. A thermometer/hygrometer should be on each end of the tank to confirm cool and warm sides. Use a digital thermometer to verify temps. Those little ones you have can be inaccurate. Provide a hide on both sides as well. Personally, I would remove the fake grass as it has the potential to cause eye injuries. Your tank looks good otherwise.
