Hi new gecko parents!! This tank is not sufficient for your baby…although it may be convenient, a minimum of a 20 gallon tank is needed for a good quality of life.

I bought this week ago and love that it includes everything you need for a gecko. The only negative thing is that the red night bulb blew after only 6 days. Disappointed ☹️

Not a tank for leopard geckos

This tank did not come close to what I envisioned as a starter kit for leopard gecko. The tank itself is too small for leopard gecko and hardly fits the recommended hide amount and dishes necessary, the lights don’t heat enough, thermostat unstable, oh wait don’t expect any decor in this kit either. Why do Petco experts recommend these tanks as great starters with all the necessary items!?? So disappointing to know these aren’t even the right size tanks for my pet after purchasing.

Stay far away from these kits

The only useful item in this kit is the tank itself. The lights do not provide enough heat for the bearded dragon. The mat for the bottom develops fungus, the daytime light burned out in less than one month. Worst of all the thermometer/hygrometer is completely wrong. We were new to the reptile care world, so we decided to go with a kit thinking this would make things easier. NO! Trying to troubleshoot why the temperature was wrong, why the humidity was wrong for three weeks until I spend more money to purchase better meters and better lighting. This garbage product nearly killed our new dragon. Stay away from this by all means. Purchase a cage with a front opening, a dome light with UVA/UVB and heat, a digital thermometer/hygrometer and use sand as a substrate. I am so disappointed with this brand, never again!

Really not impressed. The lamps do not warm up past 80 degrees. There are smudges of silicone in the tank (ok, I can take that off), and the water bowl is tiny and hide is very very very basic. Not worth the money. I'll need a bigger one in no time anyway since 10 gallon is not big enough for an adult. Can't believe this was recommended when I asked in Petco.

Lights do not heat enough

I bought this yesterday and a juvenile bearded dragon, the heat lamps do not heat the terrarium enough it has been staying at 85°. I have tried having both lamps on and I also have a heater on the bottom off the tank I regret getting this setup and wish I have gotten another.

Do you still need a heating pad for a leopard gecko?
- I got this for my leopard gecko when she was a baby and upgraded her to a 20 gallon when she grew up. I would suggest a heat pad along with the lamp because leopard geckos benefit from heat off the ground. Just be sure to create a warm side and a cool side! :)

Would this work for a Pac-Man frog ?
- Possible. I don't have a frog or know what type of house they require it's a very small space. I used it for a ba y bearded dragon and it was only vert temporary. I now use it to raise my roaches and it works for that. I'd suggest looking on fb for a used tank this one isn't very good value as I've found much bigger and better deals there. Good luck on your new friend

- Hey there! Hatchling Leopard Geckos can be housed in a 10 gallon Zilla Critter Cage but adults require a minimum of a 20L Zilla Critter Cage. Check out similar sizes of Zilla Front Opening Terrariums for an easy access habitat option.

- Hatchling bearded dragons can be housed in 20L Zilla Critter Cage but adult bearded dragons require a minimum of a 40BR Zilla Critter Cage.

- not at all!! You need at least a 20 gallon for just BABY bearded dragons. And adult will need a 40 gallon or bigger!

- Leopard geckos (adults) will do much better in a 20, 40, or even 60 gallon. (the bigger the better!) Although, no matter how big a tank, don't attempt to house any together.
