The original is still the best. There are generic versions, however I found them unreliable. The price difference is not huge, so I suggest you invest in the original Feliway spray from CEVA. Check on line (search for ) "Compare prices for Feliway spray". You can also start leaving out the carrier with the door open, put a nice bed in it and feed her near it at first, moving the food closer and closer and finally feeding her in the carrier. This will also take some anxiety away. When driving in the car, cover the carrier, so the cat cannot look out the window, as this is really scary for a cat as she cannot understand why everything passes her by so fast.

The multi cat diffuser may give you slightly better results but they both will likely help. The diffusers are nice because it’s a constant infusion of the pheromone that occurs even when you are not home. Other things that can help Trixie to feel more calm are to provide climbing opportunities that satisfy her natural instincts. A tall cat tree or shelves mounted to the wall with a bed on top can help some cats feel more secure. Set aside 30 minutes a day for vigorous play as tiring her out may result in less anxiety. Royal Canin also makes a diet called Calm that affects the serotonin levels in the brain and some cats do very well on this diet. If she continues not to do well, medications may help. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions!

In addition to the Feliway diffuser I recommend an anti-anxiety supplement. I use Solliquin but there are others at PetCo that are similar. Make sure she has a quiet, private place to go to when she's nervous. I recommend not pushing her to be with you when she's anxious since she may be more aggressive during those times. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Eva.

I presume that you're talking about Sentry Calming Collar which is also a pheromone based product. I have not had clients use that because I have not seen any studies about it. Feliway has done a wonderful job of testing their products to make sure that they work, so I would recommend using Feliway since it is a proven product. Good luck! I hope that was helpful and answered your question. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

I would suggest feliway spray; http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=1061 Feliway Spray quickly puts an end to stress-related behavior like cat urine marking and inappropriate scratching. Use Feliway to treat surfaces your pet has already marked, as well as prominent objects that could be future targets. It also helps comfort your cat in new or stressful environments such as the veterinarian's office, a new home (or home with multiple cats), while traveling or boarding, and when introducing new cats to your home.
