Diffusers should be placed where the cat spends the most time. If you are considering this product for a cat peeing outside the box, you can also place the diffuser in the room where the cat is urine spraying most often.FELIWAY Diffuser should be used for at least 30 days. Most behaviors will show improvement within 7 days, including peeing outside the box and scratching furniture. Depending on the behavior, you may need to continue using the FELIWAY diffuser longer than 30 days.When choosing a plug for the FELIWAY diffuser, make sure there is nothing above the outlet that will obstruct the airflow and diffusion of the pheromone. I got a 9 year old male cat from the shelter and brought him home and all he does is hide under the bed will this help bring him out to be more social ?
- It won't hurt to try. He is probably just scared and adjusting to his new home. This could help him feel more calm and relaxed. Be patient and hang in there!

Will this product help a female cat calm down if she's in heat to where she doesn't meow out real loud as much.
- No. This helps wonderfully with anxiety, fear, etc issue. But nothing will help during a cats heat process. Other than getting her spayed - I also work at a veterinary clinic

Does the plug-in work if scented candles are burning?
- I would say most likely...my diffuser is plugged in at my bedroom, and I have scented candles burning in the adjoining bathroom all day with the door open. The feliway has worked wonders to keep my senior cat calmer in this setting. Good luck!

Will this help at all with a cat that likes to bite? I mean bite not just a little nipple. i can be petting her and she is purring away and then she just up and attacks me then runs she always brings blood. She is a Siamese and I love her to death.
- My cat bites and has attacked me. After reading Jackson Galaxy’s book Total Cat Mojo I learned that many cats dislike being petted, they get overstimulated and will bite. Look for signs of overstimulated like tail wagging, ears back, eyes black. Unlike dogs who wag their tails when they’re happy, cats do it when they’re afraid, uncomfortable, angry….. They also NEED to “hunt” every day. Cats Hunt, Catch, Kill, Eat, Groom and Sleep. Playing with them every day is very important to for their hunting instinct. If they don’t use energy “hunting a toy mouse or snake , they will “hunt” you by attacking your hands, legs or if you move your feet or arms under the covers while you sleep. I use Feliway to calm her, if I don’t she will start biting more frequently. I can’t say enough about Total Cat Mojo, I’ve learned so much about cat behavior, posture and the “Raw Cat” inside our sweet feline companions. Hope this helps!

I have a challenging feral kitten. I have been running a diffuser for weeks but replaced it because there was a pool of "oil" underneath the diffuser (on my granite counter). Brand-new one is now doing the same thing? Help
- Hello – You will want to check to ensure that the FELIWAY diffuser is properly plugged into the outlet and that the refill vial is on the bottom. Never plug in the diffuser upside down or in a horizontal position. All devices are checked during the production process before release on the market, but an issue can happen during transportation or use.
