Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Arthritis is somewhat common at this point in life. Thankfully there are many things that can be used to help with arthritis including joint supplements and pain control medications such as carprofen, tramadol and gabapentin that can be used on an as needed basis. There is also a diet, Science diet jd which may help with arthritis a good bit. I recommend you check in with your veterinarian who can see Pip and start her on some of these things mentioned. Good luck!

When I have patients with arthritis or starting arthritis I always recommend starting a glucosamine supplement. This can be bought over the counter or online. A great animal one is Cosequin. All the directions are on the bottle. This will help lubricate his joints. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! Ferrets make excellent pets as they like to interact with humans and other ferrets, are naturally playful, and accept a variety of foods. However, it is important to keep their home cage clean as they have a faster intestinal transit time (meaning up to 4 bowel movements per day) and make sure that your home is “ferret-proofed” to avoid foreign body obstructions and injuries. You should also make sure that your city allows ferrets to be kept as pets, as they are illegal in certain areas. Good luck with your potential new pet!

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. It sounds as though she is starting to suffer from arthritic pain. With her age, it is not surprising that she has developed arthritis. If you are not giving her any supplementation to help support healthy joints, I would recommend doing so. Below is a list of arthritis recommendations. I would also discuss pain management with your veterinarian as you will need prescribed medications to manage her pain. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further. SUPPLEMENTS - These are very safe products to help decrease inflammation, heal the joint, and reduce pain in your pet. Side effects are minimal with these supplements and usually involve stomach upset or diarrhea. They work in different mechanisms so one or all of them may be recommended. These are usually started in the early stages of arthritis. Additional medications are a

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear about your baby! The good thing is that arthritis has some treatment options that can be quite effective. That diet is excellent. However, the metabolic aspect of it is for dogs who need to lose weight. If Koko Rae is already in a good body condition, you can get the Science Diet j/d that is great for joints but does not have the metabolic component for weight loss. That diet alone can make a huge difference. Deramaxx is usually used on an as needed basis for pain control. You could also consider joint supplements such as Dasuquin and Cosequin. All these things can help her tremendously. Good luck and have a wonderful day!
