Since both Sentry and Frontline use the same active ingredient (fipronil) it is unlikely that you will see better protection switching to the Frontline. You will need to choose a product with a different ingredient, like Advantage or Revolution or a Seresto collar. If you choose to use another topical, I would recommend bathing your kitty today to remove any remnants of the Sentry, and wait 3 days to apply the next topical. It is important to wait after bathing so that the natural body oils have time to coat the skin to ensure adequate absorption. You do not need to wait or bathe to use a Seresto collar.

Hi Tana! Good for you for adopting Dannie from your aunt! Fleas can be difficult and frustrating to manage! In my experience, I have noticed that Frontline has not been as effective against fleas as it once was. Dosing Dannie with a lower dose of Frontline more frequently is unlikely to kill the fleas he has and is more likely to create resistance to the efficacy of this insecticide. Instead of using Frontline, try giving Dannie one Capstar treatment (available in most pet stores), as this will kill nearly all adult fleas in about 30 minutes. The Capstar is not a lasting preventative, but is effective to initially start management. From there, I would recommend switching to a topical, such as Advantage or Revolution. The other option is to take Dannie to his vet for a prescription for a longer acting oral flea preventative, like Comfortis or Bravecto. Be sure to wash his bedding in hot water regularly and vacuum every day or two. Thoroughly clean the vacuum canister or throw away the v

I like advantage better than Frontline. That said, some veterinary office will sell flea products one unit (one month) at a time. They only require a physical exam once a year most likely, so they can establish a patient client relationship. I really like revolution or Comfortis for flea medicine but if you have to pick between advantage and frontline I prefer advantage. You could also alternate advantage one month, frontline one month then go back to advantage. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Frontline has been around a long time now and I suspect there is some flea resistance to the product. I would recommend you use a different product like Program. Yes, you can do it now since it has been 2 weeks. This is the best product. ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/Virbac-Knockout-ES-Area-Treatment/dp/B00AT6FY6A/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=knockout+spray&qid=1564665743&s=gateway&sr=8-1 )

Yes you can, strictly use the product recommended for cats. Other spot on may work better (like Stronghold), as fleas are getting resistant to frontline. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
