Great Tank, small and very modern. The back has a lot of space where the small filter goes , gives you a lot of opportunity for some DIY hidden filters and/or dosage systems. Just the hole for access to the tank is small, for both decor and netting out fish.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Fluval Edge - 12-Gallon Palace

I love this aquarium. I purchased the 6-gallon version a month ago and I was going to purchase another one, but I just bit the bullet and purchased the 12-gallon. The 12-gallon is a definite hit to the pocket, but the aquarium is classy and stylish, fits perfectly with our modern contemporary decor. I think I have become addicted to aquascaping as a result; these aquariums are so much fun to design. The filter with the added extensions (I used all of them for the 12-gallon and none for the 6-gallon) seems to work beautifully. Currently, there is only one betta in my 12-gallon, but I am going to add one snail, two cory catfish, and 4 other betta friendly community fish. I have small hands and relatively long arms, the opening of the aquarium is not a problem, but aquascaping is a bit difficult for me, because of the height, as I am a bit vertically challenged. I stand on a stepstool to help me visualize my landscape. The light seems brighter in the 12-gallon compared to my 6-gallon. I created a bonsai driftwood tree using java moss, so I am waiting for it to fill-in and surround it with large rocks and few African Ferns. I also like that the aquarium is completely covered, and the moonlight effect is a really nice addition; I use it to transition from day to night before shutting off the light.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I loved the look of this aquarium, and for the price I expected the world. The top is glued on, so you have a small rectangular opening in the back to place ornaments, gravel, plants, and fish. Lord help you if you have to net a fish in a decorated tank! I returned mine and traded it for a few Chi and Edge tanks...not as large, but I love them.

No, I do not recommend this product.

What's the best way to incorporate a heater into this set up?

  1. Easy... you can use the backside of the tank to run your heater cord through with the power cord. It’s hidden inside the plastic backing so everything is nice and tidy. I have the 6 gal version of this and I love it. It can be a pain to clean if you add too many plants or decor.
