I bought this tank 10 years ago and have showcased it on my youtube. It is an amazing tank. There was initially some problems with flourescent lighting but we debated online publicly and aqueon is now providing an led lighting system for this tank and it is working great. I have jungle val and two different species of Amazon sword gorwing in the tank. This is THE tank for Betta's and now that I am seeing it is still being manufactured I might make another video about it. I was running a youtube channel about betta fish and I have tested several tanks and this tank trumps Fluval's super expensive 5 gallon nano tank big time. This tank is an excellent space saver and is perfect for having a fully stocked nano tank without over crowding. I reccommend for stocking this tank the following fish: 1 Betta as a show fish, 6 pygmy corydora for bottom feeding tank cleaners, 2 to 4 otocinclus catfish for algae eaters, ghosst shrimp may also work with this seet up, and you need a good stack of driftwood or some sort of mid terrain plant something to fill the middle to put mid terrain fish in there to complete the setup, smaller species of tetra will work for that in here, green neon tetras, or ember tetras. Again, I have two species of amazon sword and one species is quite tall, it fills in that void space in the middle, the new lighting is working well with these plants. These are easy to take care of plants, my substrate is about 4 inches thick in here, make sure your plants have room to root by putting in thick substrate. I have a betta log tied to the tank lid with a piece of fishing line so my betta has a safe place to sleep, they can drown and like to stay at the top of the tank to get air so for all betta keepers I reccommend having a betta log for this reason. He sleeps in it every night. If you do not tie off your betta log in here it will get caught in the current and become dangerous to your betta by slamming into the glass, I do not think this is a reason to scrutinize the tank though. Of all the nano tanks out there, I truly believe this is THE ONE for bettas when people don't have a lot of space for a bigger tank, it takes up the same space as a 5 gallon but is 15 gallons of water. Bettas need to be kept in a minimum of 10 gallons of water to be happy and healthy.

I bought this almost 3 months ago. The tank its self is nice. The light had already stopped working. It lights but SUPER dim so not brightening the tank at all. And I’m not 100% sure the filter works very well for the tank size/shape. I’m thinking of upgrading to a more powerful one.

Filter and heater that come with tank are not suitable for this vertical tank. Has to buy new ones within a month of setting up. Very unhappy

Update to prior review where I rated a 3 due to the filter stopped working shy of 2 months. I contacted Aqueon's customer service. I'll rate their customer service 5 star. You weren't directed to someone overseas you couldn't communicate with. Melissa was very kind and helpful and provided information for self repair and offered replacement if that didn't work. My propeller was not seated correctly, but of note she did mention that the water level has to be over the Aqueon insigna on the filter housing. Mine was but thought this was useful information for others that may have issues with their pump not working.

Like the look and design of the tank and the power filter was quiet, however the filter stopped working in less than 2 months use. I have multiple fish tanks in my home, and I have never had any of those filters (other brand) not last for years so very disappointed in this filter.

I received this tank setup for my birthday and was quite excited until I did my research. I found that as neat as this tank seemed it had very limited fish housing capability. Unless you want to set it up for shrimp or nano fish you are limited to one fish the size of a gourami and a couple of Autos. even nano fish you are limited to a dozen or less and they are one inch or less, again with a couple of Autos. This is with a planted tank and no snails.

I love this tank, stand, lighting all of it. A little weird to get into because of the narrow opening. But once its done its done.

I just purchased this tank two days ago. The tank itself is a nice tank BUT the light is warped. It won't sit flat on the top of the tank. I called Petco to see if they would exchange just the light, I had to go round and round with the associate who wanted me to bring back the entire tank (after I already had it set up with fish and everything) finally she agreed to exchange just the light. I went to Petco yesterday to exchange the light and the one that they were going to exchange for me was worse than the one I got with the tank. It wouldn't even lay flat on the counter. It looked like a skate board ramp. So I left the store and called Aqueon. They will replace it "this one time" as a courtesy after I sent them multiple pictures and my receipt. We'll see what happens when I receive the new light in one to two weeks.....
