My 9 month American Bulldog at 90 lbs has hyagroma on both elbows. What is the best route to take? I bought a brace but he wont keep it on when Im not at home. I heard surgery is expensive and just as frustrating
6.5kg small dog was running after a stick. Suddenly turned around and started crying. After inspecting the leg, it seems to be a problem at the back left knee. As I straightened the leg, there was a loud pop. We drove to the vet and the vet thinks there is a tear of the ligaments (ACL or CCL) in the dog's knee. We are going to get an xray in 2 days. We are financially stuck and we are wondering what alternatives there are to surgery or what the injury could also be? Dog is currently limping.
Can a Puppy grow into their rear kneecaps if popping in/out of place? What can I give for Joints to help make them strong?
How can I help my dog with his arthritis
Hi my husky injury her left knee about a week ago! When it happened she cried in pain. Was not in the room when it happened but she has partial lameness as of now. Full lame for first day. Will walk on it and stretch it out behind her. Sits pretty normal but won’t fully put weight on it standing! Knee feels pretty stable but pops on and off. Giving buffered aspirin and glucosamine. Try not to let her jump on bed but she does it anyways. Muscle tear? Meniscus tear? Or ccl tare? Non surgical pls
Saturday night my dog got caught and fell off a chair. She cried really loud and seemed to be in a lot of pain. She has been limping but still uses her paw and leg. She doesn’t yell when I touch it and she acts fine. I’m not sure if it’s broken or sprang her paw. I don’t have a lot of money for a vet so any over the counter items would help a lot. She still uses it fine, walks on it, and applies pressure to it and jumps. She’s eating and drinking fine too. What should I do at home for recovery?
Have a spunky new rescue chihuahua mix and she is skittish. So much so she will resist any efforts to trim her nails. We have 4 dogs so I have trimmed nails hundreds of times--but with Ricki Ricardo, no luck. I sit on the floor and flip them over and cradle them between my legs. My wife distracts them with peanut butter on a spoon. Besides going to a groomer or vet, any ideas? I thought maybe a groomer table might help. Are there premium nail cutters of higher quality than store bought?
I'm terribly afraid that Kazuya has hip dysplasia. In the last week, he has gotten progressively worse. He will only take 2 steps and sit sideways. Does anyone recommend a rear harness with handle for support? Also, which supplements are the most effective? I'm currently giving him Cosequin and another one called Infinite Pet Supplement. I am also monitoring his weight. Please help. I cannot have kids and my boys are my life. His brother is healthy.
We just rescued a 3 year old English Bulldog. I noticed that he always lifts his back right foot when standing still. He has no problems running and walking but doesn't put all his weight on that foot. We took him to the vet today and it was so quick I don't understand what happened. She said it feels like there is an injury to his knee and they want to do X-rays. I am nervous about anaesthesia - how safe is it for him to be put under? Should I go for the optional extra blood test before hand?
Hello - my French Bulldog has stiffness in her left clavicle area, stiffness of her muscles. She also has a fluid filled pocket underneath her jaw/ neck area. She had a 104 degree fever earlier this week but was given anti inflammatory and antibiotics. Been on them for about 5 days.
When should surgery be considered for a dog with collapsed trachea and what are the surgical methods and treatments used? Risks for methods used?
Our 195# English Mastiff, Hope, became very excited when we came home from an overnight trip and was jumping, lunging and circling around us. We noticed shortly after that she was limping on her hind right leg. She can put weight on it but favors it quite a bit and has a little trouble with the three steps off the deck to the yard. It's a little swollen in the joint (hock area). Kinda mimics a sprained ankle.... should we keep her off it as much as possible and ice it?
