Dogs come equipped with a furry coat to help keep them warm and protect them from the elements but can sometimes benefit from an extra layer to stay warm. Some small breeds—like Chihuahuas—originate from warm climates, so they may be unprepared if you live in a cold climate.
Dog clothes can help small canines or senior dogs retain their body heat, and they can make our timid pups feel more secure—dog anxiety vests are great to have on hand during thunderstorms or loud noises like fireworks.
Dressing up our pets can also be a lot of fun. For many pet parents, their dogs are like their children, and they want to dress them in fun styles and cute outfits that fit their personalities.
Petco is your one-stop shop for everything you need. We carry matching dog and owner outfits, as well as Petco pet parent pajamas that perfectly complement their doggie counterparts.
That really depends on your dog. If your dog tends to overheat at night, you may want to take off their pajamas before bed. Our pajamas are designed with comfort in mind, but if your dog is showing any signs that they're uncomfortable, it’s best to remove the pajamas, especially before bed.
It’s best to take a measurement of their neck, chest and back. Make sure you measure at the widest part of each section. After you get those measurements, you want to add 2-inches to both the chest and the back measurements, so the clothing is comfortable for your dog.
If something is ill-fitting, it’s important to exchange it for the right size. Dog outfits can be a lot of fun, but only if your dog is comfortable in the outfits and they enjoy wearing them.

Ok so I have an issue. Its getting cold here and we are looking at some very heavy snow this year. All three of our dogs are rather thin coated. The older two refuse to potty outside if its too cold. Would sweaters help? Also the youngest is less than two pounds (tiny chihuahua mix) and even though he's not allowed outside yet we like 2 to 4 inches above our floor tend to get cold no matter what temperature we keep the house at how can I help him stay warm?
What type of bed would you suggest for my miniature dachshund? She is 3 1/2 months old. She gets cold easily & sleeps w/ me in my bed. She always loves cuddling with me whever I am if on the couch resting, etc. I always have a small blanket & she loves for me to cover her up totally.. She crawls under it & goes to sleep!
How do I get my dog to wear a dress without being scared of it
What are some affordable high quality dog boots you would recommend for good foot protection? Im trying to find foot protection that won't annoy my dog. Thanks
I live in Virginia & fall weather is here, I've found the mornings & evenings to be very chilly. My question is does Ruby need to wear clothing? I keep the house a comfortable temperature but I thought maybe a puppy tshirt would be needed? She doesn't like clothes so I wanted to ask if it's needed.? Thank you for your advice!
the floor is way to cold for even us humans here. and my puppie's paws were very cold. can i put on small woolen socks on his legs to keep his paws anx feet warm?
we have a 20 pound rat terrier mix in excellent health, not overweight. She is 11 yrs old and we were trying to fin d a carrier like a backpack to put her in for our long walks, when she gets tired. There are so many to choose from. I like the ones that we strap on the front of the human, and her legs stick out at the top and bottom just like a real baby. However I am concerned that the position might put too much pressure on her back end. What can you recommend?
My dog is old now and has hip issues that require we help her up. I'm looking into harnesses to make both our lives easier but am not sure which style would be more comfortable and less damaging. I can only get a few styles in my country (attaching pics) and they all look painful to me. Which of these would be best? Or would any or none be a good choice? Would one wrapping around her legs be better than one wrapping around her belly? Thanks!
What type of laundry detergent should I use to wash my dog's bed? She has sensitive skin. Is there any brand you would recommend?
I live in Chicago where it gets really cold in the winter. My puppy is small to medium size. Should I consider in getting her dog booties and coat/ jacket for the winter? Or would she be fine in the winter?
Why does my dog hate wearing sweaters? The others are always good, hazel has a water jacket and I put it on her when its really cold or raining and she always stays still like a statue and then she will rub against the wall, plants, or a couch, the jacket fits her perfectly and she can pee and poop with no issue (asking since summer is all most over ) thank you!
