I just adopted a dog at Petco and Humane society had given her Sentinel. Should we keep her on that or can I switch her to Trifexis, since that's what we give our other dog & I already order through Dr.'s Foster & Smith? Thanks.

Hello buddy is a yellow lab and he loves to chew on Rawhide. I can't seem to find the huge rawhides he likes that I buy at Christmas time. Can you recommend any treats that he can chew on for long periods of time? I see that dr. Foster and Smith sell a rawhide bone but it's almost $30 for three of them and then not nearly the size of the large ones he gets through in a few days if that.

My partner and I foster dogs for a local rescue. We brought home a new foster yesterday, estimated 6 month female. She bares her teeth and will sometimes do a low growl, but mostly only towards my female dog Autumn, not my male Watson. I think it’s mostly out of fear since Autumn is bigger than her. Do you have any tips to help reduce this behavior and calm her nerves? I want Starla (the foster) to feel comfortable in my home and with other dogs for her future owners.

Hello, I rescued a feral cat in December and she has become a pet. I was referred to you by Dr. Foster & Smith. I would like to get my cat groomed, but she has not been around humans. I want to get something to lightly sedate her, so I can take her to get her groomed. She has sooo much hair. She will let me brush her all over, but not her belly. I would like to take her to a groomer to have most of her hair removed, but she needs to be slightly sedated for me to do that. Can you provide me with

My foster smells terrible. We gave him a bath with medicated shampoo which improved the look of his coat, be he still itches and bites at his rear and the odor is quite bad. Since he is a foster, I am hesitant to spend on remedies sold by non-professionals in the stores. Any suggestions please that might help out. He is about 1 year and came from a hoarding situation. My chihuahua is 13 Years old, she is in good shape but her teeth are horribly rotten. One of her canines is falling out, it looks like it is hanging out of her mouth. Drs told me if I put her under I risk losing her. Is there any way drs can remove the one tooth without putting her under ? Her tooth is horribly infected.

My cat is losing fur on the back and now it's almost looks like it's bleeding I have ruled out fleas but he has gain ally of weight lately and also drs all the time and pees everywhere now he is also 15

Hello my cats have always gotten along with each other. I have 3 females one male and I also foster cats. They were fine with the foster cats coming and going until recently, my male main coon (3yrs) started attacking one of my female tabby (2years) causing her to spray all over the house. We have tried boar mate spray encase it was sexual agression, calming spray, calming drops in water, and calming pheromone collars. How can we stop the peeing!

Hello, I noticed that my animal shelter is needing a foster for one of their cats, but she has Calicivirus. They want her out of the shelter for a while so she can relax and rest. I have a cat at home and he is up to date on his shots. If I were to foster her, would my cat get sick too? The shelter says she is on medication twice a day to treat it. Thanks

So I'm stuck. my little foster kitten. He is underweight (13 oz at 5 to 6 wks), has bad diahrrea but fecal sample tested neg, he always seems very sad and remains motionless when my other foster jumps on him and tries to play. He doesn't act like a normal kitten. Shelter vet insists it is just gut issues and refuses to do blood work. Vet tried pancure, metronidazole, propectalen, marquis,None work. Cant get a second opinion because the shelter wont pay for another vet. Hes vaccinated. Advice??

So I have 4 adult cats and I work at a shelter so I'm always bringing home bottle babies and gruel baby kittens to foster. In the past my adult cats have been so sweet and nurturing and would often clean the little ones or cuddle with them. However, this kitten season they seem to have zero interest in any kittens I foster. They arent mean to them or anything just not engaging with them like they used to. Most are orphans so it's nice when my cats will comfort them. Why did they stop??
