Health & WellbeingMy winter white dwarf’s, Pusheen’s, left eye is shut. I don’t think he can see out of it. His other eye is on the verge of closing. He’s limping really badly and he’ll stop at random times, probably because he forgot what he was doing, or got tired.
It looks like Pusheen has crusting around both of the eyes, with potential discharge. Discharge from the eyes that is this excessive is not normal, and I would recommend that you take Pusheen to a veterinarian, especially with the other signs that you are noticing. A veterinarian can evaluate Pusheen and ensure that there isn't something serious going on with the limping that you are seeing (such as a broken bone), and may determine that he needs some pain medications. They can also evaluate the eyes, and may prescribe a medication for them to make him feel better (such as an antibiotic drop or ointment). At home, to keep the eyes open, you can use a warm, moist cloth to wipe the eyelids and remove the discharge. If there is an infection, however, cleaning may not clear it by itself.
