Can you cut the heating tape?
- NO...they are that length for a reason if you have a glass aquarium they go on the outside in back of tank in a S shape from top to bottom you can put small strip pieces of duct tape to hold onto tank

Is this good for corn snakes
Since this can be wrapped around tank decorations is it safe for the animal to touch? It won't burn them?
- I wouldn't recommend putting this inside a tank it works just fine and has same heating effects if tapped on backside of your tank

Will this work for my ants? I would like to speed up their founding stage, but not overheat them.
How hot does this get running without thermostat?
Is it save to use on an aquarium if that's where I keep my reptile?
- The Zoo Med heat cable cannot be used with water. If the aquarium you have is set up as a terrarium then you can use the heat cable on the bottom of that tank.

- This heat cable is 15 watts.

Does this item include a way to adjust the intensity of the heat output? (Turn heat up or down)
- The heat cable does not have a thermostat on it, however you can purchase a thermostat separately to plug the heat cable into to control the temperature.

Is it ok to enclose or cover this cable by routing it through a ceramic tube or ceramic decoration?
- The heat cable can only be used attached to the outside bottom of a glass enclosure or wrapped around a wooden decoration in the enclosure. It should not be covered with anything, as covering it could cause the heat from the cable to become encapsulated.
