Roomy for a 3 gallon tank. Looks pretty.

Looks nice, very roomy for a 3 gallon. Good filter which is very quiet. The only negatives are the feeding hole is open so we have concerns about the fish jumping out. I put a small piece of Plexiglass over the opening to cover it, so the light isn't blocked. Also, the LED lighting should be up higher. You can't get into the tank with sliding the light fixture off. It is also a bit too bright. Working on solving that problem...

Yes, I recommend this product.

I've had the 3 gallon aquarium for over 2 years now. I highly recommend it. My opinion is Bettas should not be put in any aquarium smaller than this, preferably 5 gallon actually. I stopped using the filter, it seemed too large and I needed to clean the water every week anyway. What is absolutely necessary though is a heater and closely monitor the water temperature as the temperature can easily get too warm. Since the aquarium is plastic, it can easily scratch so be careful, use soft or micro soft cloths during cleanings and gently rinse the gravel. When using the LED light, gently screw it on, doesn't need to be put on very tightly at all, to avoid cracking or damage. I've had no issues with the lid fitting. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another. Its lovely at night with the light on. Good Luck!!

Yes, I recommend this product.

LOVE THIS LID BUT TETRA DOES NOT MAKE THIS ANYMORE

BEWARE you see this and think great, but no you will receive a tank with a black lid and the lights are inside the tank now and if you decide not to put the lights in then there are sharp plastic pieces that hang down that could harm your fish if they would jump and hit the lid. I love the clear acrylic lid, it is a much better look and also lets you keep a "clear' eye as to what is going on in the tank.

Consumer Services
Thank you for your review. At Tetra, we strive daily to produce innovative, quality products at a reasonable price for our consumers. This is why the new lid was developed as it is a definite upgrade, especially with the style of lighting. This gives a sleek, modern look to the system. The plastic mold does not have any sharp edges, and there have been no reports of any issues with this lid. For help with any of our products, please call the Tetra Consumer Care Team at 1-800-526-0650.

The crescent 3 or 5 gallon tanks are excellent and the whisper internal filter quiet.

Something the owner can do to dampen any vibration from the motor bumping against the back of the tank. Attach the bottom suction cup as instructed. Next place another suction cup on the bottom suction cup in reverse so that the two flat surfaces stick together. This should provide enough of a buffer to prevent the motor housing from rubbing against the aquarium wall. It may take some experimenting to find a suction cup that will do the job. I have owned two of the 3 gallon size crescents and 2 of the 5 gallon crescents for about 3 years and this modification has worked for all tanks and made them really quiet. I especially like the Internal filters that came with these tanks because the water flow can be controlled down to practically a trickle. Great for Betta fish. The whisper medium size filters also allow for using many different kinds of media and they are available in 12 pack boxes as well. Tetra is a great company with great customer service. Just be sure to save your receipt in case you have any problems. Thanks Tetra for all the things you do to make the aquarium hobby available and affordable for people.
