On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. Questions
Is the agua farm tank made of glass or plastic?
- Thank you for your question. This is an acrylic tank.

Kordon Home Grown Ponics AquaFarm Self-Cleaning Fish Tank
- Thank you for your inquiry. You could certainly put one Goldfish in this tank instead of a Beta fish. However, for a fish the size of a Goldfish or a Beta it is absolutely only a one fish tank.

Where do I get more fish food?
- a good betta fish food can be found in almost any pet store or online, i strongly recommend dried brine shrimp. this is one of the best food sources for a captive bred betta and should keep him happy and vibrantly colorful if not improve his color when aided with a low stress life. 2. It depends on the algae eater but considering that they can get fairly large i would put them in a larger tank, and do not house them with a betta as betta prefer to have their own territory.

how high does the water level have to be? do the plant roots grow down into the tank water? Is the bottom of the tray porous, open grill or something
- Kenlim, the cover of the AquaFarm is made up of 3 plastic parts as follows ... The main tray is mostly solid plastic with 3 holes in it and fits nicely into the top of the AquaFarm. Picture a lasagna pan with 3 holes. One hole is where the tubing from the pump is fed into and the other two are over-flow/return holes returning water from the plants to the aquarium. There are 5 baskets in which the seeds are planted. These are like little laundry baskets 3" wide and 2.5" deep and they are filled with shale rocks (included with the AquaFarm). This is where the seeds germinate and grow. The third piece fits over the whole system. It's a flat cover with 6 round holes; one for each pot to nestle into and one with a trap door which is used at your fish's feeding time. The plant roots grow down through the shale and baskets and into the water-filled "lasagna" pan, but not into the aquarium water, just as the previous writer already said. :-)
