A good product I have used for years. I've tried other products and always come back to this one. Kittens and even cats love it.

Given our Bengal kittens this brand since age 3 months. Started with mother and baby and then the kitten one. They never get tired of it and seem healthy.

Cats & Kittens are carnivores

This food is just a little under 37% protein. As the title says, cats & kittens are carnivores. Not by choice but because cats produce minimal enzymes to needed to break down carbohydrates. This food is almost entirely made up of carbohydrates. Great for profit, bad for cats.

Questions

1 - 6 of 6 Questions

I have 4 month old kittens and this is what I'm feeding them. How much should I be feeding them? They are voracious eaters and high energy.

  1. For feeding amount recommendations please contact our Consumer Care team at 800-592-6687

I have a 7 1/2 month old kitten and a 1 1/2 year old cat. I am going to be travelling a lot for the next 2 months and they will both need to be on the same food. Is this food going to be unhealthy for my 1 1/2 year old?

  1. Kitten food will not be good for the older cat. If they must be on the same food, I'd gradually switch the kitten to adult food before your trip, so that they are both eating the adult food.

When do you stop feeding kitten food and change to adult food?

  1. Usually the transition to adult food is around 1 year old. Circumstances vary with each cat, so it's best to check with your veterinarian. Some cats need to come off sooner, because of too much weight gain. Kitten food is much higher in calories. Ask your veterinarian. They are the best judge of what is right for each individual cat.

Why does the pack look different and did the name change?

  1. I used to buy Kitten 36 consistently. However, this new "Kitten" variety has changed a little from Kitten 36, but maybe for the better. All of the five cats in our house are eating it heartily (possibly more so than the Kitten 36), and their health remains very good.

can I feed my kittens (5 and 6 mos old) Royal Canin dry food only?

  1. You should DEFINITELY feed wet food also! We feed our babies wet food in the morning and evening (6am and 6pm) and they have a high quality mix of 4 dry foods (free feeding)

Feeding kitten food to a 3 yr. old?

  1. Your cats that are over a year old SHOULD be moved to another formula. Kitten food is higher in protein and really is not meant to be a food on a long term basis. If your cat is vomiting on other food, consider Royal Canin #33 SPECIAL DIET. It is for sensitive stomachs. I have 2 cats with sensitive stomachs, and this is the ONLY FOOD that they can eat without vomiting back up. I have also told several of my friends who have cats with stomach issues. This is great food for cats with stomach issues.
