Added weight support for OTTB!

SmartPaker Reanna

When I first got my horse off the track, he was thin and lacking both weight and muscle. I decided to add Cool Calories 100 for extra calories since his meals were already so large! I love that Cool Calories 100 provide extra calories for weight gain, containing five times the fat of an equal amount of high-fat, stabilized rice bran! It's highly customizable with the feeding amounts to meet your horse's needs. It did not make my horse "hot" and gave him the extra boost that he needed after coming off the track. It is also highly palatable, even when fed in higher amounts! I will definitely keep this on hand for my next OTTB partner, needing the extra boost!

Cool Calories

I noticed a lot of the reviews are on Manna Pro's Flax (maybe they'll take them down once more reviews for Cool Calories is written). It smells like fruit punch bubblegum, but it is tasteless. My horse is so picky and I knew I would have a problem. My trick was to sprinkle some powder over a collection of his favorite treats and leave it out for him. He eventually ate it and realized it did not affect the taste of his treats. Now I am slowly introducing it to his feed one pinch at a time. He is muscular and already gets 4 pounds of feed twice a day with alfalfa, but I need him to get a little fatter. Its August and it will take a month to introduce him to the full amount I want to feed him, then I will let Cool Calories do its magic all Fall so he is ready this Winter.

The horses leave it at the bottom of the feed tub. I have fed it before and know it works but these two horses won't eat it. I wish it was a pellet. I do wet the feed a little to get it to stick but that defeats to convenience of the smartpaks somewhat.

I started my horse in this 2 months ago he had gained so much weight and now looks beautiful but my horse who was not scared of anything now spooks at everything so I’m going to take him off and see if he goes back to his normal self.

Works great! But don't forget to involve your vet!

It definitely worked to help my skinny, hard-keeper TB gain weight and she ate it right up! My horse is in light work while she gains muscle and condition. So with the Cool Calories, her grain, and pasture, she's getting a lot of calories in, but not many calories out. Since starting the Cool Calories, she has definitely been spicier/hotter/spookier than she was before. I don't think this supplement is making her "hot," but I do think the amount of energy she's taking in vs. what she's expending is out of balance. My vet recommended a high-fat feed supplement that's bulkier and can replace some of her grain, so we're going to try her on that instead of the Cool Calories. Overall, this product does exactly what it's supposed to do and the SmartPaks are very convenient! But always worth consulting with your vet to see what's right for your individual horse :)

I've been adding this to the feed of my 21 year old spotted Saddlebred. He had fallen off weight wise and didnt seem to be wintering well. He's been in it 30 days and I can already see a difference in his top line. I ordered Smartpaks for him but I already had a bag of this. I'm feeding beet pulp, senior Safe Choice and horse feed mixed in water. I add this and mix it up. He eats it all and licks the bucket clean ! I'll have this added to his Smartpaks as soon as my bag is gone.

My senior gelding wouldn’t touch the stuff. Might as well be throwing money down the drain.
