Buy at your own risk

Buy at your own risk .This tank is really just for a betta fish .Even then I would recommend a standard 5g tank over this one. Because of it's odd curved shape when your light burns out or your lid gets damaged getting a replacement will be close to impossible. Petco doesn't sell replacements for this tank.If your not getting this tank for a betta your stocking options are very limited. And my local Petco's selection of nano fish is absolutely abysmal.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The only thing that I can think of on why you would buy this tank is for a single betta fish and even then I would recommend buying a standard 5g tank over this one. When your light burns out or if your lid gets damaged they dont sell replacements for this tank . And because of it's odd curved shape finding a replacement lid will be extremely difficult. Your options for fish will also very limited in a tank like this and my local Petco's selection of nano fish is absolutely abysmal. So buy at your own risk I don't recommend.

This tank has an awkward shape.

You are so better just getting a standard tank because of the shape of this tank you cant just replace the lid unlike on a standard tank . And they dont sell replacement lids or anything for this tank I don't recommend this tank at all.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Tank curves in front

I needed to quarantine a fish. This is easy but the curved edges in front give a distorted look. And it often hides the fish at certain angles. I do enjoy the lights and color variations. Pump is decent.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Lid issues!!!!! 2 of these & both bad lid grasps.

I bought this around 6 months ago and loved it so bought my son’s family one, too, as a gift. Unfortunately, the lid grasp things are extremely problematic. My lid stoped going down all the way/ attaching securely to the base of it soon after setting up the aquarium. I thought it was because i had pulled a wire up in the back (the lights wire or heater cord-as they come up & out from under the back of the lid). Then, i thought it was that the filter intake tube wasnt in place properly. I finally discovered the problem is the lid itself- it is the two tiny plastic squares in the very front & center of the plastic base for the lid to rest & snap securely into. I managed prying the one side (one of the two tiny square things back open very meticulously & gently with tweezers, but it kept moving back blocking the small part on the lid that slides down i to the two tiny squares that are the grasp. So, now my lid is unable to close down thoroughly & be secure. My son also loced his same aquarium, despite the opening to clean it being less than half of the suze of the tank because of the lid frame and the filter being built into it). My son had lid problems, too, and they gave up on theirs completely. Its a shame, because it is a crystal clear safe acrylic tank if you have children. But, it is not safe for anyone who has a cat. A cat can easily lift the lid due to the lid’s closing mechanisms being so problematic. Can the company offer any help? Its a huge waste (a lot of landful) if it cant be resolved. I was hoping to buy another one for my daughter, but then these lid issues pretty much right away…. Im also looking for a bigger acrylic aquarium, bit i will not but from a company unless i am certain of 100% quality.

TERRIBLE. cheap lid, weak filter, NEVER again

After a week the lid did not fit on right, the button sunk into the lid and we have to use a pencil to turn the light on. The pump is very weak, we have to change the filter and clean the tank constantly. we only have ONE beta fish in the tank, I could not imagine if we had more fish. I would never buy this product again. I was very disappointed, I could not return the tank because the fish was already living in it and I did/do not have a back up tank.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Filter kills fish

MaxFD

This aquarium has functioning LED lights and filter, but after a few months with a beta fish, the filter mechanism sucked the fish, damaging its lower lip and eventually leading to its death. We only became aware of the cause of the fish’s death after the filter sucked our second beta fish, damaging the scales on its head and killing it after a few days. I cannot recommend this aquarium because of the filter and highly advise beta fish owners to find an external filter or one without a sucking mechanism.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Can the filtration system be removed from this tank if it stops working?

  1. Hi SarahB80, Good day! Yes, it is an internal filter and replaceable. Thanks,

Does anyone know if it's actually 5 gallons. I'm pretty this is the tank I have and it only took about 3.5 gal and I saw another review that said theirs only took about 3. Has anyone checked?

  1. Hi Kat2009, Good day! This is a 5.2 gallon tank. Thanks

Can you turn off the light if you don't need it?

  1. Yes....there is a button on top of the lid to click off the light.

Where it the notch for the filter? My tank seems to be missing this.

  1. Hi bc111, Good day! We sent you an email about this. Thanks,

what are the measurements?

  1. Hi Jiminy, Good day! Please see below: Volume 5.2 GAL Height 12.5 IN Width 16.5 IN Depth 9.7 IN Thanks,

Does the lid come off the tank entirely or does it just lift up from the front?

  1. The lid is hinged and can be lifted up or removed completely

Is this one piece of acrylic formed into a tank or are there glue seams from multiple pieces?

  1. Thank you for your question. It is one-piece impact resistant plastic construction so no worries or concerns about possible leaking seams.

My betta loves to sleep on the opening at the top of the filter. Could this be harmful for him?

  1. Hi jdh7, No, that shouldn’t harm him. The filter intake would be the only part that could harm them if they happened to get sucked on to it, but most filters come with a special cap for the end of the intake that helps to prevent that. If you’re still concerned you may want to get him a Betta Bunk which is a live plant attached to a suction cup that you can stick to the side of his tank up towards the surface. Bettas love to lay on the leaves of the plants just like he’s doing with the filter opening. Thanks,

Will the filter be harmful for my Veiltail Betta fish?

  1. Hi Tomatos, No its's not. The Imagitarium Freshwater Aquarium is the best for betta fish. Thanks

the filter system went out on mine, where can I get a replacement?

  1. Hi boots2, Unfortunately, we do not sell replacement parts for this. We suggest that you contact our Customer Relations Department at 877-738-6742. Thanks,
