Don’t have fish in here! Minimum for Betta is 5gal

Keeping a betta fish in a 1.3-gallon tank is quite restrictive and can be compared to an adult person living in an extremely small, confined space, like a single small room, without the ability to move around freely.

Too small for fish

This tank is much too small to put any fish into. I’m not sure why petco continues to sell these “tanks” it is literally inhumane. Your fish is going to be stressed out, your water quality is going to be poor & the fish is inevitably going to pass prematurely. 3 gallons is usually considered the BARE minimum and typically people don’t even recommend less than 5 gallons. Petco do better. The tank isn’t even good quality it’s plastic, the light is cheap, it looks cute from a distance if you wanted to put some plants in here that would be fine (?) although to be honest without a filter plants struggle.

I bought this last weekend on Saturday and bought my grandson a beta fish it started swimming to the top like getting air I asked if there was anything else I needed I got no answer so my fish died because no air pump and the water got dirty so fast everything came out to 80.00 my grandson cried his eyes out so I can’t get my money back on the fish tank and stuff because I don’t have the fish that’s rediculous

Absolutely horrible tank

This is absolute trash. Just like all the other reviews say the plastic will fog up. We have it a shot because of the price but are now out $30. It last 60 days before the plastic became so cloudy you can’t see through. Petco customer service was useless because it is past 30 days. The store said to contact Petco directly because the brand is owned by Petco. . They should remove this product from the shelves. They are currently making kids cry and parents waste money

No, I do not recommend this product.

Not for Bettas!

This is not a Betta tank. Friendly reminder, Bettas need at least 5 gallons to thrive! Think putting your Golden Retriever in a crate meant for a Bulldog. If you want to really enjoy owning a Betta, give it a proper sized tank.

Had the bowl for a few months and the plastic clouded so I couldn’t see the fish and he couldn’t see out. I had to move him to a new container. Petco wouldn’t allow me to return it since it was over 30 days.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Well I tried to keep a betta but, it became so cloudy can I keep just live plants in it?

What is the easiest way to clean this tank?

    1. Hi bettabuddylover, There is care instruction on the packaging as below, and there is no easier way to clean it. " Rinse your aquarium. gravel and decorations ( sold separately ) with warm water only. Do not use soap, detergents or cleaning agents. Avoid cleaning with used rags or sponges that may contain harmful chemicals that can be toxic to your fish." Thanks,

so before i buy the tank and the betta will i need a heater or will the tank be ok

    1. Hi btoothless807 They require temperatures from the mid-70s, up to around 80 degrees. If your room temperature is consistently in the mid-70s at the lowest, you can get by without a heater. Thanks,

What are the differences in the lightning for bettas with this tank?

    1. Hi Minniee26, This tank comes with a basic LED light that can be used for Bettas. Thanks,

I love this tank that I got for my betta, but I was wondering what filter and heater I should use. It seems it would be hard to fit a filter on a bowl and it’s small so what should I use?

    1. A betta fish should be in a minimum 5 gallon tank with a filter.

I bought the Lotus at a Petco store. I can't scrub the cloudiness it develops off with anything - vinegar, water, baking soda, Magic eraser. I contacted Koller and they said they don't make it. Petco should answer what to do and replace the manufacturer.

    1. Hi clnn, We apologize for the inconvenience. We suggest that you contact or visit the nearest Petco store in your area and speak with our aquatic specialist for thorough assistance. Thanks

In our office at work we have all purchased this aquarium and now they all have a cloudy film on the inside and you can't see in them anymore. We clean them reguarly. What can be done about this?

    1. Hi Brandy24, We highly suggest that you contact your local Petco store's aquatic experts as more information are needed before we can answer this. Thanks,

Hello, I love this tank, but the light is not longer working. We have tried changing the batteries. I have had it for 6 months. Is there a way to get a replacement light? I can't find the vendor information to call directly. Thank you.

    1. Hi Rachel the fish mom, Thank you for your question. We apologize since there is no replacement light offered for this product.

Is this tank made only for Bettas or can I put any freshwater fish in it?

    1. No fish is small enough for this
