It literally came broken on the side so I couldn’t even put it together, but the doors are so hard to open I mean what the heck? I can’t even figure it out . I expect a replacement within 2 days, I get my animal in a day…. Great job Petco!! …. (Sarcastic)

I own both rats and ferrets and purchased this for my rats. This is very vertically spacious and so it’s great to add toys and levels for rats to climb. The bars are spaced close together which is more ideal for rats. The base and accessories are made of plastic and rats tend to chew most everything they can get a hold of, so there is the possibility that the cage can be damaged by rats. And also the front door is very poorly designed. To secure the doors tightly, you need a lot of pressure to get the clips under the cage bar. This would be difficult for children to close back up. We are using clips to make sure the door stays closed. It needs to have a sliding door like the other living world enclosures have. This cage is not suitable as a permanent living space for a ferret. It’s too small. I would not recommend it even for a temporary home. A better suggestion would be the Living World Deluxe Habitat XL.

Door literally barely works and the water bottle doesn’t even fit into the clip so i had to buy another water bottle which kinda annoyed me a lot. I paid almost 200$ for this just to have the water bottle not work and the door not work. Everything else is ok.

the cage is of decent size, fits my large ferret well, the top latches (locka) are awesome, you have easy access through the top. BUT, the bottom door, the latched ( not locks) are horrible. you can't get them snapped closed and wonce you do you can't get them undone. They are secure but NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL!!!!. If they would do something withe the front locking latches, then this cage would be a 5+. But witht that door, I honestly dislike the cage for that reason I will be contacting the compnay to see if there is anything that can be done aside of exchanging the cage.

I bought this cage for two rats. It is a good size for them. The plastic base is sturdy, sufficiently high to keep bedding in and easy to clean. I agree with other reviewers that the front door is cumbersome to open and close, especially with just one hand (holding a rat in the other). The provided water bottle was leaking so much I had to buy a new one right away. I still would recommend this cage, given its size, quality and price (~ $ 110.-).

I got this as a gift. How the heck do you open the door on the side of the cage. Unless my friend put it together wrong, there is no way that door will open.

I purchased this cage as a new habitat for my daughter's 3 medium sized rats and love it. It's a very sturdy cage. There's lots of room for the rats to play and climb. The top opens easily. The front door is a little difficult to open, but for us this is a plus as my younger child can't open it without assistance. The wire spacing is narrow enough to keep even small rats in. I caught it on sale and really feel like I got a good deal on a cage that will hold up well.

This is nice sized cage, bars are close together and the ramp is solid plastic, not grated wire. I am using mine for a ferret, however I have owned rats in the past and would not hesitate to put rats in this cage. We are very happy with it.
