Great light, using the app to change the light composition and timing for your plants is easy. I also really like the sunrise/sunset feature.

This is a great filter. I would recommend it for any 75 gallon freshwater aquarium.

I waited a few months before writing this review because I didn’t want to base my experience just on first impression. While this light is pricey, I still believe it’s worth the peace of mind and saves me headaches. I was previously using a hygger light for only a year before I started having multiple problems with it from the functionality to the actual build quality failing as months passed. This Fluval 3.0 light is built very sturdy, very sleek, and is BRIGHT. I love that I could easily program it with the app and just let it do its job. The app’s interface could use a lot of improvements, but otherwise, it does what it says and I’ve had no issues with it. I tried to take suggestions online where people said “not to spend so much” but after spending on 2 cheaper lights that failed after several months, I ended up just paying more for this. The built quality is also amazing so I highly recommend it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I had great success growing algae instead of plants. This lamp has dramatically changed my luck! My tank is now algae free as I can completely control the amount and color of the light. There are YouTube videos of exactly how to set it up. They’re very helpful.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Difficult to control

Highly touted but expensive and over-rated. The only way to control settings is through a cellphone AP. No manual-just what is on the AP. Settings do not remain fixed as set. Use with caution or risk a sudden algae bloom.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The product does pull the debris from the gravel well, but it didn’t last long. I used it for a month or so, then the motor stopped working.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I have a 72 inch 125 gallon aquarium. 23.75 inch deep I believe and 18in wide. Could I get away with buying the 59in instead of 2 36 inch lights in a moderately planted tank?

Hello! Will this light work well with a heavily 40 gallon tank? Will it penetrate though? Does it cover a wide range of space? I have 2 cheap skinny lights ( 3inches in width) that I use to cover both side of the tank ( long way ).Will this be same?

    1. This will way out perform the lights that you described. This light has a very good reputation in the hobby and for good reason. This will have no problem with a 40 gal heavily planted. Just be strategic with the plants so they don't shade each other out.

Will the 32w fit in the second slot on the Fluval flex 32.5 gallon tank lid?

      I have a 180 gal freshwater planted tank. Is 2 36" Finnex AL-U36WM lights enough? Or should I add 2 Fluval 46w 3.0 lights?

The manual states power input 110v - 220v is this correct

Will Fluwal 3.0 work with 220v output

          1. It uses a wall hugger power supply. I would imagine they sell a 220 version.

Can the extenders for the fluval 3.0 be removed? I have a fluval edge aquarium and would like to put the light directly on the glass top

          1. They cannot be removed, but they're also very low profile. So you should probably be ok.

Will the Fluval 14523 Plant 3.0 LED Light (48" - 60") LED Light fit an aquarium 48.25 inches wide? The Fluval 14523 Plant 3.0 LED Light minimum width of 48" is very close to the maximum measured width of 48.25" of my 75 gallon aquarium.

I grow miniature orchids in a 75 gallon tank.  Will this light support the growing of orchids?

            1. Yes

Si this fit on my 36” long Aquarium

            1. From Fluval's website: 32 watt fits 24-34 inch, 46 watt fits 36-48 inch and 59 watt fits 48-60 inch widths
